Left for the track with my tri all set. Keying Tacitus in all three slots with 7 ofhers. Cost $63 for 50 cent tris. So do I do it? No. Change it up and key four horses in 1st and 2nd. Oh well Steve

I keep telling myself that I should simply pass the Derby Weekend and BC weekend - but I never do. Brutal for me. Thursday I feel like I played it pretty well for my horizontal thinking mind. Keed Break Evven and if Newspaperofrecord wins, I have a $3 p4 and a $5 p3 (much better had Tom's d'Etat beaten McKinzie). I keyed She's a Julie and was well-positioned (so I thought) to hit the p5 and p4 using 5 in the allowance race and 5 in the Oaks with plenty of prices but missed both. Yesterday I had horizontals keyed to Mia Mischief and Digital Age and missed them all and was alive to a "backup" p3 with 5 in the Derby which included neither Maximum Security or the eventual winner. Oh well....

Spent the better part of 2 days being pretty much wrong about the races, and was a little bit discouraged by late Saturday. Lost an ALL in the Derby p3 because I left off Bricks and Mortar(?!?!), thinking that his streak would end there, and after he won barely, I passed on a planned ALL/1/1-5-7 P3 starting with the Derby. I resemble your pain, GAM
However I was right about one thing(as I posted in the Oaks day thread)---Asmussen/Santana were huge for 2 days. 6 wins--2 Friday and an incredible 4 Saturday with none either day being a favorite. I bet every one of their efforts w/p, to save me from disaster. Particularly heavy on the last race Friday(desperation why not lose a lot more move) with win exacta and tri, and strong in the last two races Saturday(finally made a score with Limonite!!--which set me up to unload win in 14th + double and tri!). And no mention anywhere of their accomplishment, however I noticed and thank them very very much!

Was live to 6 in the Derby, to complete both the 2 day P3 and the Sat Pick 3 ending in the Derby including WOW, Tacitus and Code of Honor, all of whom ran well I thought. Had a Tri with Tacitus and War of Will on top, 6 horses in second and 8 in third (including Country House and Code of Honor) but not to be. Felt handicapping was decent over Wed thru Sat and hit enough things so as not to get blown out, still had a great time handicapping and playing, great fellowship with friends, which is priceless.

Went back out to the local OTB yesterday (apparently to add insult to the financial injury suffered Friday-Saturday) and was told that one of the regular players there had the p5 ending with the Derby and, I'm not sure, maybe it was the Derby tri. Supposedly made well over a $100k!!
