Thank you...tims70ar needs to a just his bet...he had selected an five dollar ex of the twelve & eight....And more importantly is that the weather report may give us a Muddy track for horses never having gone that distance....lol...thanks again...

This is why most of my betting $$ goes to Hong Kong racing now. I'm tired of not being informed.
It's heartbreaking but glad they found it before he raced......and there is the added plus that one less derby horse is "ruined" by running in thiis and hopefully we see him in some upcoming exciting stakes races.........unless he is whisked off to shed but I don't think so?
I wasn't using him in my trifecta so now I will never know if doing that was good or bad.

Omaha Beach, the morning-line favorite for the May 4 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve, will not run in the race after being diagnosed with an entrapped epiglottis, owner Rick Porter of Fox Hill Farms confirmed May 1. Porter said the throat issue became apparent in the past five days, and an April 29 scope revealed the problem. Attempts to manually adjust the epiglottis were unsuccessful. “He’s going to have very minor surgery next week and we hope to have him back in training as soon as late June or early July,” Porter said. The scratch would allow also-eligible Bodexpress to draw in to the field of 20 for the Derby off a runner-up finish in the March 30 Xpressbet.com Florida Derby. Trainer Gustavo Delgado was not immediately available for comment. Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith was slated to ride Omaha Beach, who won the April 13 Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn Park last out. “I’m disappointed but I’m really disappointed for Mr. Mandella,” Smith said. “The horse was just doing so good, you hate for it to happen. But we’ll be back. The main thing is, the horse is OK.” “After training this morning we noticed him cough a few times,” Hall of Fame trainer Richard Mandella said. “It caused us to scope him and we found an entrapped epiglottis. We can’t fix it this week so we’ll have to have a procedure done in a few days and probably be out of training for three weeks. We’ll have to figure out a whole new game plan.” |
