That's a tough break, gooch. There is good reason that only FERDINAND as my top pick in 1986 has been able to win from the rail in the last 56 years. It takes a closer who will stay out of harms way early on and hope to navigate through traffic to accomplish the feat in these 20 horse fields. WAR OF WILL surely will be hard used early on and probably exhibit the results of a difficult trip as they turn for home. JMHO!

Dammit. I was loving War of Will. Yes, disappointing. No new Will $$ for me. He has to go. If he breaks well, he has enough speed to get the lead into the turn, but it is a tall order for him. |

quick, I was hoping he would juice the exotics, not the win. Plus I have been killed by the one hole in the past. I do have WOW in the future pool, but will likely replace him with WWW or Tax in my tri. Game Winner the key. Good luck!
Larry, I had Ferdinand also, but I don't think that was a 20 horse field. Was it? My bad if it was. Anyway, I think the rail has become tougher in the era of the stampede....

You make 2 good points, gooch. There were only 16 in 1986 and it does appear the stampeding era has been more prevalent since then. Tough to overcome the rail in any event.

Think the one would be ok for a deep closer or a fast breaking lone speed horse. Pretty bad for anyone else. A few years ago they showed the camera angle looking out from the one hole and it looked like you couldn't get to the rail by running straight out but actually had to come out a little, while others are crowding in. Dumb question but why not move the gates, both of them out to the right a bit, at least that would improve the angle for the one post?

With the scratch of Omaha Beach, does the also eligible now move into gate 12? Or do all the horses move in one slot putting Bodexpress on the outside in gate 20? How does that work?

Bodexpress goes in post 20....everyone else outside of post 12 moves down one ie Roadster goes from post 16, Game Winner from 15 etc...
