Interesting and different....
After receiving approval this week by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission, Churchill Downs will offer a two-day Pick 6 spread across May 3 (Kentucky Oaks day) and May 4 (Kentucky Derby day)
Gary Palmisano, Churchill Downs’ VIP player services manager, said the $2 Pick 6 has a 15% takeout and mandatory payout.

I won't be able to resist it, so now I'll be playing 3 CD Pick6s over the 2 days. But after hitting the Orb Derby P6, I'm not going to complain.

Is this in addition to the regular p6 or in place of? Shoes, your reply suggests an additional p6.

The betting menu posts suggest a different arrangement than set out in the bloodhorse article with single 6 wagers both days and just the one $2 p6 over Oaks-Derby days. Smart actually. The $.20 single six will attract large pools but will almost certainly be hit multiple times making a large carryover a near certainty. That will then foster more betting interest in the Single Six as the meet resumes post-Derby. I think CD has noticed what the huge Rainbow pools do at GP.

Not according to the condition book. No such races in the book, although the book shows 3 straight maiden races to start Derby Day, but I'm expecting one of the allowance races listed as optional to be put in, instead.

The Oaks/Derby Pick 6, which has a $250,000 guaranteed pool, has a mandatory payout with a 15% takeout. The wager will begin Friday with the $500,000 La Troienne – a 1 1/16-mile event for fillies and mares 4-year-olds and up, followed by the Kentucky Oaks – run at 1 1/8 miles for 3-year-old fillies. Saturday's races include the $500,000 Humana Distaff – for fillies and mares 4-years-old and up at seven furlongs; the $500,000 Churchill Downs – for 4-year-olds and up run at seven furlongs; the $1 million Old Forester Turf Classic – for 4-year-olds and up run at 1 1/8 miles on the Matt Winn Turf Course; and the 1 ¼ mile Kentucky Derby.
