The old section of the Pimlico grandstand has been declared unsafe. Racing needs the Stronach group taken out and drawn an quartered! The state gave them money to work on the track. The idiots (no slots!) spent it on Lrl with plans to move the Preakness. Well the state, Md Jockey club say where that happens.
I feel sorry for anyone that HAD seats there. I remember the days when I went to about 33 races a week. Now they barely run that many in a week. Run fewer races at Lrl and pump money into it. I heard they tore down the gf's sports palace. So lets waste more money on LRL. Yeah the Hollywood Parkless Stronach group, racing's bulldozer.

They say 7,000 seats, seems high. That used to be the 'smoking' area so you learned how to cuss in Jamaican ;-).

The Maryland Stadium Authority recommended demolishing all structures at the site, including the clubhouse, infield, grandstand, race tracks, barns and other infrastructure, in its analysis released on Thursday, Dec. 13.
The capital improvements were estimated to be cost about $424 million.
Demolition and site clearing: $21.5 million Infrastructure, utilities and site improvements: $120.5 million Tracks and infield: $29.6 million Multi-use clubhouse: $252.2 million The construction would last approximately three years.
The stadium authority was given the assignment of managing the Pimlico Race Course Study through a memorandum of understanding with the Maryland Racing Commission and the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. Its goal was to provide an objective and thorough analysis.

And the track right up the road went from dump to holding MAJOR races at that tiny place. Other gambling money turned that place around in a big way. Hang a right to the casino, under the clubhouse.
I remember the occasional 2 track days, from Pim or Lrl to CT. Shocked the latter is still standing compared to the other two from back then.
Money wise, property value ..... squat. just sayin'
