Saw them at Oaklawn.
Interesting tidbit: Up until the early-80s, Clydesdales were responsible for positioning the starting gate between the races and the horses lived in the Infield.
From oaklawn site: To be a "Budweiser" Clydesdale, you have to be 18 hands- or six feet - at the shoulder, weigh an average of 2000 pounds, must be bay in color, have four white stockings, and a blaze of white on the face and black mane and tail. A gentle temperament is very important as hitch horses meet millions of people each year.
A single Clydesdale hitch horse will consume as much as 20-25 quarts of feed, 40-50 pounds of hay and 30 gallons of water per day.

There were several sets of Budweiser Clydesdale 8-horse teams around the country. There were at least two in St. Louis - one at the brewery downtown and one out at Grants Farm. Grants Farm we originally owned by Ulysses S Grant and later purchased by the Busch family and it became their family estate. They went into competition with the St Louis zoo in that at one point they had on display almost a 1000 different animals from elephants to humming birds.
