hard to go against a 6-5 exactor...the 3 may do some thing here...the five can improve and should be game winners biggest challenger here...

Roadster all out to win as needs the points. Game Winner runs a solid 2nd ina race a want no part of playing.

Nolo Contesto favored over Roadster in their last race... NC had 'troubled trips' in all 3 of his races,
should be clear sailing against this small field. Joe Talamo needs a Derby mount and John Sadler trains,
so I'm thinking this is the best shot they have to make it to Kentucky. My sentimental selection of a Pioneerof the Nile colt - watching for 6/1 overlay.

A short field at Santa Anita? Shocking! "There oughta be a law" that Derby preps need 8 runners or more to qualify for any points. Nolo Contesto might be interesting. You sure won't get odds on anybody else. Hard to bet this race, period.

From what I’ve been reading, Baffert hasn’t exactly come out and said it, but it seems to me that he thinks Roadster is as good if not better than Game Winner. The horse he beat in his last, Nolo Contesto, had come out of a race where he beat Omaha Beach. The top 3 in here are probably better than top 3 in the Wood or Bluegrass. Would love to see 3/1, but might have to settle for 5/2. Steve

Wondering if Instagrand can get a clear lead here. If so, he could be gone. Who goes with him? Roadster? If so, does that compromise the latter?

I guess I read Baffert right. I’ve been getting subtle vibes from him about Roadster and I guess he knows his horses better than me. $8.20 was a great price. Steve

Roadster was impressive, but so was game winner. He ran a lot further--wide all the way, and was still there at the end. He seems like the embodiment of a key horse. Runs his race every time, always there at the finish. Plus, without a win in his last two, you might get a better price in Kentucky. He is a grinder, but Baffert has compared him to Silver Charm in that regard. Silver also ran 2nd in the SAD. Don't sleep on this guy.
