Lol...I think one - Mucho Gusto should win this and not just because he is the best horse in the field nor because the experts select him to be m l favorite...but because he is one of my WinStar members to get me as many points as possible and help him self to an entry into the k d , etc races, lol..

What level of importance do you give to the brothers teaming up on #9 Diamond Blitz?

A lot of horses look like they want the lead in the race, including the two favorites. Mucho stalked a bit in a short field in the slop, but I'm not sure that means anything. Plus, with 'Twist and others outside him, he may have to be sent. If you toss his last, Cutting Humor may figure. He can sit a stalking trip with JV, and pounce if he's good enough. Maybe.

The Ortiz Bros? They ain't riding this race. And they don't ever ride the same horse at the same time. But wouldn't it be great if they did? I bet they would win every race. Or at least hit the board every single time. How would they do that though? Would one brother sit in front of the other brother? One holding the reins and the other holding the whip? Or would they use a stacking strategy? One Ortiz in the saddle with the other Ortiz sitting on his brother's shoulders? They'd have to get longer reins and making weight might be a problem. But yeah, I get what you're saying. the Ortiz Bros are great.

Just had a look at the pps and do think that 9-diamond blitz & 5 can beat the one, mucho....lol....nine does stand out....oh, and brothers are for life and the Ortiz bro's are two I tend to put in me tri, exotic races where they both have a mount...and once in a while another Ortiz bro , who rides at a different track and another who trains also are looked at closely...etc etc...And the five was ridden by one of the Ortiz bro's and he rides horses with a shot to win so the five must have a good chance here as well....lol...

There is a bunch of speed in this one - 1-2-3-6-9. If you think the speed can go the distance, then name your poison. I might go with Hustle Up who should offer a square price. I don't see a stayer that looks that good to me but Wicked looks best of what's available. Pletcher's horse, Cutting Humor look terrible in the Southwest but if he was just having a bad day he could surprise a lot of bettors.

Can't bet when I'm such a fan of #2 Anothertwistafate. Don't want him to lose. Don't feel him likely to win.
Feels like the best opportunity for a homer is the race before, Sun10 #2 Anyportinastorm. Anothertwistafate is no doubt the best work horse on the grounds at ggf. Anyportinastorm outdrilled him March 17. Same connex as Anothertwistafate. Following the work alert I looked to this under card for his spot. Lo and behold, there he is. Comes in laid off, but fired fresh every time prior. Goes Tapeta to dirt, but on dirt debut last out, he finished under 1:08, posting his best brisfig. Tactical speed. Need only find a length, length and a half to get in the photo. 4-1 line. I'll take 3. At 5 I start increasing.

Dog gone....at publichandicapper my selection in the Muniz , Markitoff lost by a nose at sixty two to one....another did the same....lol...might be in the top ten if he had won...lol....that is two weekends that I lost a top ten placement....lol...had the exactor but it was a poor payoff for those odds...must have been insiders that bet it way down...tri as well....lol...Markitoff is one of the horses I follow life time...and knew he was ready to roll...

Looks like a three horse race. Mucho Gusto, Wicked Indeed, Cutting Humor. I can't get past the total turf pedigree of Anothertwistafate and Hustle Up is going to need another improvement after jumping up like crazy last out. Mucho Gusto is the deserving favorite, but Cutting Humor gets another chance at excelling at 3700 feet. That elevation can take down anyone attempting it for the first time. Trying Cutting Humor for the upset and also playing a box.

Good pick on Cutting Humor.
Regarding Anyportinastorm. Full disclosure. Had a $40 dub from Chasing Yesterday, which was yielding 6.7-1 so a win bet wasn't required. Ran just ok in defeat. Learned some things about him in an interview I heard this morning with Blaine Wright. Unlucky charge was rammed by loose horses in the morning twice, once losing two months and another losing three when falling on cement upon collision. Wright also said today is a prep for some stakes at ggf in late April. Bet him with eyes open. No regrets. See it all the time. They're prepping and win anyway. So it goes.
Regarding Anothertwistafate. Same interview. Wright said his instructions to Hernandez were to let his natural speed place him wherever, probably close up or setting it. The one thing he didn't want to see was him pocketed or covered up. Think CA Chrome. So Juan does exactly the opposite. Said it before and I'll say it again. These boys who ride have giant hearts and tiny brains. Hernandez rode both mounts in a way that wins a lot at ggf, but doesn't travel well. JRV was the difference.

Brutal post parade. Horses warmed up, ready to run, then they spend at least 10 minutes walking in circles at the top of the stretch to suck up every penny. And people wonder why horses bleed.

Thought the same thing, hoop. Pretty blatant if that was the reason for the delay.

The time of the race was the best by far over 1 1/8 th mile so far so the top two are likely to be in top three finishes in the k d series...it remains to see if mucho gusto gets into form after setting such fractions and improve for the k d distance....the top four runners are going to be a challenge to beat in any of thier three year old races this year and will certainly be top three finishers in any race they appear in as four year olds etc...they belong in the top five percent and probably top three percent of north Americas best horses...or better...the five did beat mucho....great race time...best so far...
