If Country House runs a straight line, he will be tough in the long stretch. War of Will has not done anything wrong this year. Spinoff improving --good test for him. Limonite on the tri ticket, if there is one. Chalky.

Country House will be closing like a train. Put the house on it.

Me thinks the 6-war of wills will be tough to beat with the one & eight being the ones to perhaps tire the six ,while the ten- spin off is a big question mark but I am going out on the limb here and take a chance on nine- bank it...the odds should be ripe for picking , lol...

Wills looks like a winner in here. I think if Country can be somewhere close to the lead at the far turn, like 6 or 7 lengths back, he might be able to make a run at the leaders down the stretch. Sueno could be the price horse of the gimmicks.

I'm going with Spinoff he ran a big race off of long layoff- won it easy- first time around two turns - he's on the outside of the other speed which is good, so I'll take a shot across the board.

Although my heart is with Hog Creek Hustle (best of luck to my friends), my wallet is likely to back Limonite. Trouble in the Risen Star, his first of the year, make his 2nd off the layoff, gets a great jockey switch to Ortiz, and returned to the work tab quickly following the Risen Star and has put in 4 works to prepare. That’s not the Asmussen way! I think he is really signaling he’s ready and while 20-1 is a pipe dream, if he’s 10-1 or better I am crushing him.
War Of Will has done nothing wrong, Sueno and Country House eligible to improve, and Spinoff bred to be a star. Treading lightly I believe and using Limonite over/under those

They don't give away prizes at the top of the stretch.

Back to the drawing board for me. I thought WoW was the goods. Not the greatest ride, but no excuse.

The stumble early is the excuse gooch.I had a Barbaro flashback when I saw it.I'm surprised he made it around the track(not pulled up).Tyler had to feel something.I'll bet he's off the trail.Casse said post race he was "significantly off".

Lots of big disappointments and lots of troubled races which made big differences in the outcomes.....back to the drawing board......a lot of owners and trainers are refocusing and must change the desired training and race schedules for sure....it will be interesting to see what points races they will show up in to get to the k d ....I suspect we will hear of a few dropping out of running in the k d and refocus on the Preekness and Belmont now....but they do have a three week window to enter a points race and if they win about two weeks to rest up in workouts.....but I do not think it sits well with many an owner or trainer....I was rather surprised that Baffort had no entries in the races...he will surly show up next week....as will a couple of other trainers no uno horses they are training...lol

Veteran Louisiana and Kentucky trainer Bret Calhoun has had a lot of top horses but never a Kentucky Derby starter. That figures to change after Chester Thomas' By My Standards went from winning a maiden race to taking the $1 million TwinSpires.com Louisiana Derby at the Fair Grounds Race Course .

Yes, clearly something wrong with War of Will, hope he returns to the races. Was live to him for about 250 and to Sueno for about 2500 on P4s, so disappointing result for me as well. There was money to be made yesterday, it just wasn't me making it.

Top two ran good and WOW had a legit excuse.
Sueno appears not to want more distance and Country House needs more time to mature.
I was a little surprised Spinoff didn't show more speed earlier or acceleration coming off the turn. He sorta grinded his way around the track and didn't have much of a burst when JR asked him. I suspect Pletcher might fool with an equipment change if they run him back in another prep.

Gooch-maybe the Pletcher horse at Sunland got the full dose. How was he 2-1?
Spinoff was green in the stretch at Tampa and JR said he was fighting with him in New Orleans so maybe an equipment change is coming. Interesting horse in a group where nothing stands out yet.
