With Golden Gate as my home track, I know how badly the ECRD winner was supposed to stop after setting taxing fractions. The 9th furlong clocking in at 12.08 declares this one for real. Mentioning the two I have underscores just what a hopeless homer I am. Check it out.

probably, hooper. that dam side is pretty turf heavy and makes it a little more likely this one won't often take to natural dirt. i'd like to see a try in a 50 point prep on dirt. can't deny the talent.

Just watched the Sunland Derby head on. There are few indicators for a bad next out more predictive than an inability to maintain a straight course. To my count Anothertwistafate drifted out 5 paths through the lane. Racing's never simple. Hernandez thumped him left handed only. Calling all trip handicappers. Was this a young horse shying from the stick or is it more than that?

Tough call but I think it was reacting to the whip.

Thanks shoes. Think you're right. Seemed to get out in rhythm away from the thumps. Winner is more of a concern as he was getting out and JRV was going right handed.
Feel like the head on is damning against Hernandez, who's not ready for the spotlight. Horse is not hard to ride. Stalk and pounce. Gimme Victory Victor, Smokin' Joe or Super Mario. If he has to stay local I'll take Irving Magic Orozco.

I agree with the whip. He jumped right after getting smacked, then straightened out and ran. I tossed him because of his turf breeding, but "twista" ran a good race.

Just listened to an interview with Blaine Wright. His charge got bumped off the derby points list. Therefore he's decided to run him in the Lexington Stakes. His rider there will be Javier Castellano.

Seeing how many sit right around 30 points (about a half dozen)....the Lexington should be very interesting this year.
