It is amazing we have a daughter of Camelot(2,000 Guineas,Epsom Derby and Irish Derby) who prefers synthetic. Maybe we should send her to Woodbine!

So Heliabel encounters soft turf twice with 2 average outings. Perhaps she's slipping on the soggy ground and getting tired where she had lots of grab on the synthetic? Find some firmer ground and watch her roll.

Yup,true story. It's how I started my Sunday morning. Race 1 on Sunday, free replays at France-Galop. Free membership sign ups also.
CAFÉ ALMA was leading the field at Pompadour on Sunday when right as she was passing by it, a track sprinkler suddenly went off and spooked her, causing her to unseat her rider. The filly continued around the track riderless and finished in front. Both Cafe Alma and the jockey are fine. Trainer Henri-Alex Pantall wishes to run her again in a few weeks at the same level and hopefully without any sprinklers!

Hoop, sorry your filly lost her rider. You can't see anything since its about a half mile from what seems to be a 1950s camera feed and it was behind the trees. She continued well out wide after that and didn't stop trying. I've never seen a track that made the Mass Fairs look high tech until today. :-) Guessing that was sand they were running on with some random rails spotted on the inside. Unless it's known why she bolted, couldn't your group drop her in class next out and probably not worry about getting claimed?

I thought the best part was after the finish line when she decided to run straight into the French countryside. Had my doubts we would ever see her again. Actively looking to rehome her but no one will give us a nice pot of cassoulet for payment. She appears to have the least talent of the 4 fillies and she won't be flying the TV silks much longer. If we drop her any lower she might need a passport out! Au revoir.

I missed that! That area is part of their chase course. Did she go over any of the jumps? :-)

Maybe she'll appreciate the sea air. You're not allowed to drown her in the Atlantic if she loses. :-)

Hoop, what's the word after today? She lacked a rally, but nobody seemed to be moving. Love the combination flat/harness grass course. 4 harness, 4 flat races today. Was there a dual breed pick 8? :-)

Have not talked with the trainer yet. Missed the break and that was about it. Slow. Might have to run her vs the harness horses to get a check.

Cafe Alma wanted to run on her own terns and had now gotten her way.... Hopefully the others are more cooperative.... 🙂
