Just finished my Saturday handicapping.
Good Luck

FILLY AND MARE SPRINT
1) SCYLLA
2) WAYS AND MEANS
3) SOCIETY
LONGSHOT: ONE MAGIC PHILLY
SCYLLA comes in after two seconds to top fillies (one of who is in the race; Society). Mott says she's probably better around one turn. She has two bullet works over the Saratoga
training track and is sitting on a big race. WAYS AND MEANS is a deserving favorite from Chad Brown but at low odds we'll try and beat her. SOCIETY or VAHVA wouldn't be a surprise.
ONE MAGIC FILLY has figs that put here right there . Phil D'Amato is having a good year and if she's 10-1 she's worth a flyer.
TURF SPRINT
1) COGBURN
2) STAR OF MYSTERY
3) BRADSELL
LONGSHOT: HOWARD WOLOWITZ
COGBURN to me is the most likely winner on the day. His last three have been spectacular and its going to take a very good horse to beat him. STAR OF MYSTERY or BRADSELL might fit the bill.
APPLEBY has won this race the last two years and has another contender in STAR OF MYSTERY who boasts a 107 Beyer on her form. BRADSELL is an extremely fast Euro who wouldn’t be a surprise.
HOWARD WOLOWITZ has blossomed since being moved to turf. This is a huge step up for him but we think he can hit the board at telephone numbers.
DISTAFF
1) AWESOME RESULT
2) THORPEDO ANNA
3) RAGING SEA
LONGSHOT: NONE
With the scratch of Idiomatic, everyone thinks this will be a walkover for THORPEDO ANNA. Think again. Although she certainly is one of the top 3 years old fillies seen in recent years, my gut
feeling says that tough battle with Fierceness knocked the starch out of her. She regressed 18 Beyer points in her last and she might be over the top. The fact that she has to face an
undefeated Japanese monster who is 7 for 7 as well as 3 for 3 at the distance, doesn’t help. AWESOME RESULT is the pick. RAGING SEA, sent out by Chad Brown, has a good shot and
wouldn't be a surprise.
TURF
1) SHAHRYAR
2) REBEL'S ROMANCE
3) WINGPAN
LONGSHOT: ROUSHAM PARK
SHAHRYAR is another sharp Japanese colt who merits respect. Hes a world traveller who just missed in last years BC Turf. Thinking he can turn the tables on REBEL's ROMANCE who is the
horse to beat. WINGSPAN is a nice 3 year old trained by the ever dangerous Aidan O'Brien. ROUSHAM PARK is another Japanese colt who has made a veryfavorable impression on the track.
CLASSIC
1) ARTHURS RIDE
2) HIGHLAND FALLS
3) FOREVER YOUNG
LONGSHOT: USHBA TESORO
Really had a tough time between the top two picks. Only putting ARTHUR's RIDE on top because if Mott's in, I'm in. Speedster might be able to wire this field. I really love HIGHLAND FALLS
as well. This is a regally bred colt (out of Curlin and BC winner Round Pond (who we cashed on!)). He was rushed a bit when he was shipped out West for the Santa Anita Handicap last March
but has developed into a top contender for Cox. I like FOREVER YOUNG over the other top two 3 year olds who will be the favorites (FIERCENESS and CITY OF TROY).
USHIBA TESORO is another world traveller who always fires.
FILLY AND MARE TURF
1) MOIRA
2) WAR LIKE GODDESS
3) CINDERELLA'S DREAM
LONGSHOT: NONE
We've always loved MOIRA since she won the Queens Plate two years ago beating colts. Just missed her at 7-1 in the Diana and she has come back with two sharp efforts since. Ready
to roll at a nice price. WAR LIKE GODDESS is a perennial in this race. Sjhe hasn’t been as sharp as usual but is training very smartly. Don’t leave her off your tickets. CINDERELLA'S DREAM
trained by Charles Appleby stretches out but can be dangerous.
SPRINT
1) REMAKE
2) NAKATOMI
3) FEDERAL JUDGE
LONGSHOT: DON FRANKIE
Might be leaning too heavily on the Japanese contingent but this is another one I like. Speedster has c ome back this year in fine form and will be ready to roll. NAKATOMI was
compromised in his last but will be flying late. FEDERAL JUDGE might be the speed of the speed. DON FRANKIE beat REMAKE in his last.
MILE
1) CARL SPACKLER
2) NOTABLE SPEECH
3) PORTA FORTUNA
LONGSHOT: RAMATUELLE
Sticking with North America's top hope CARL SPACKLER. Might be compromised by the outside post but we think he's good enough to work out a trip. NOTABLE SPEECH, trained by Charles
Appleby, who won this race in 2021 and 2022 is the horse to beat. PORTA FORTUNA and RAMATUELLE are both top shelf Euros who fit nicely.
DIRT MILE
1) SAUDI CROWN
2) DOMESTIC PRODUCT
3) NATIONAL TREASURE
LONGSHOT: NONE
SAUDI CROWN looks locked and loaded for this. DOMESTIC PRODUCT is a bit of a tweener but Brown feels he's better at the mile than at 6 furlongs and we agree. NATIONAL TREASURE fits
nicely in here.
Good Luck
