Immersive looks to be the early favorite at 5-2 or so. I will have a win bet on, and will be rooting for with gusto, Scottish Lassie (Parkland Thoroughbreds/Steve Weston.) I'm worried that she improved so much to win only four weeks ago that a regression could be in the cards. Also interested to see who gets the mount.
Don't sleep on American Bikini, from Japan. If you cover up the names of the connections and just look at the pedigree, you might expect it to be trained by Baffert or Cox. The actual connections are very high on this filly, and she won from the front going 7F left-handed last out. Also giving a long look at Quickick, who if nothing else is an excellent yardstick for the division having faced La Cara, Scottish Lassie and Immersive. Somewhat concerned that Quickick will have too much to do in the short stretch run at Del Mar, but she did okay in the Alcibiades at Keeneland which used the first finish line. Assuming that Dylan Davis will keep the mount, and no one is riding better or with more confidence right now than him.
Competitive race for sure.
