If he wins the Classic they would probably break even with the prize money. But oh the immortality .

This is extremely tedious watching an empty racetrack for 35 minutes plus . You would have thought that they could have at least showed the horse in the paddock Glad I have nothing else to do 🤬

Horse has a very long stride. He just floated over the tapeta surface. Nice that they made him squeeze through between horses instead of just taking the "married-man's" route on the outside. Waiting to hear the comments from Aidan.

Massive missed opportunity by At The Races . People watching this from all over the world . Showed an empty track for 45 minutes then no interviews with the connections afterwards .

He’s going to be the favourite which is good news for US bettors who don’t think a Euro can win on the dirt.
I’m rooting for him as horse racing needs global superstars to keep the sport relevant.

Be funny if the other Coolmore won and Troy was second.

You would have thought that they could have at least showed the horse in the paddock Glad I have nothing else to do 🤬 Yes, other than the physicality of the horse, with that big wingspan...i don't really know who he "is". Compare to the UTTERLY CHARMING video of Forever Young, walking along the apron, just feet from his fans, and them reaching out, even children.....and you could tell this was a horse that would be loved and bring fans to the sport. Newbies dont care about clicking off 12s and watching horse go in a 35 minute circle like the hands on a kitchen wall clock. Racing keeps missing the boat , but that the Japanese have down pat...their posters, their plushies of top racehorses...they are making a racehorse an actual PERSONALITY that humans can relate to. Why arent we , and everyone else, doing this more, is beyond me.

Attheraces.com could have gone with some additional hand-held cameras in and around the paddock, to get the flavor of the day, but I don't think they have those kind of resources. They just used Southwell's feed once the horses were loading in the gate. Not their 'responsibility' to even cover it live, so you got what you got. Sky Sports sent Jason Weaver to cover it for their TV coverage, and he had the subsequent interview with Aidan O'Brien. A lot of the waiting around was because O'Brien was delayed on the roads getting to the track. From The Racing Post article: 'It would be hard to describe the outing as anything other than positive for City Of Troy. Indeed, O'Brien even saw his delay as a good thing, calling it "priceless" that City Of Troy was able to parade with a crowd for an extended period of time to help mirror the raceday experience.' Southwell did a fine job of promoting the event, with free admission. They opened the bar so folks could get refreshments, and the paddock was busy with onlookers. Plenty of media present, and Ed Whitaker from The Racing Post got some nice photos, in the article below. www.racingpost.com/news/britain/city-of-troy-oozes-class-as-he-completes-southwell-gallop-ahead-of-breeders-cup-classic-aPKtd6u7eNWiTW
