Here’s the Gun Runner x Oleksandra filly Hoop. February foal, has some good size to her. Mark Casse (pink shirt) asked to see her… I have two videos but having difficulty posting them from on-site. TW

Walking ring behind the sales pavilion… Hip #72 was a very tall, very impressive physical specimen, even dopes like me could see it. Not This Time x Kayce Ace (Tiznow)… Hip #72… Day one sale topper at $3,400,000… TW

Great experience at the sale. It was really neat seeing the old names like Darby Dan and Gainesway participating in the sale. On a personal note it was nice to see hip 23 who is out of a Crown of Thorns mare. Probably the last time that his name will show up in a pedigree. I always liked him but he wasn’t much of a stallion. Sold to Madaket for $125,000. She is very pretty though.

Respectfully, I think you missed the point.
I’m not denigrating ASD (such as by calling it “ass downs”) just pointing out the difference (culture shock) between the 240 royally bred yearlings and the gorgeous sales barns and auction ring at Saratoga versus the 31 lower level babies and more modest surroundings at the CTHS sale.
I’m not sure who you think I am but I grew up and still live 10 minutes from ASD and have been attending the races there starting as a kid around 1970. ASD is home and I am immensely proud of the job that Darren Dunn and his team have done to establish a very solid position for a small market track. I have even had the buffet many times and you are right, it is excellent. Two of my kids worked at the track and are still in racing and horses although they have moved on to other locations.
In the past, posting under the user name Large Mac, I have championed ASD races on the UIC forum and presented pictures, picks and anecdotes from the track. I have even run a contest or two over the years. I just haven’t been very active on UIC the last couple of years as the forum seems to have lost its appeal for me. It doesn’t seem as happy and friendly a place as it once was.

Good photo of the group. That catalog has more black type than I thought I would see. $15,000 average?

The sales results for 2023 were 16 sold out of 38 offered - average C$11,469
2022 - 17 sold out of 32 offered - average C$ 10,008
A number of the breeders also race their horses so a lot of these are in to qualify for the Sales Stakes at 2 and 3.
