There was a field of 6. Los Al has a tendency to cancel the show pool even when there are enough runners if there is a heavy favorite and they fear a negative pool.

The Starlet had a 3-2 Baffert favorite 2 races later,there was show betting. Both 6 horse stakes races also had trifecta wagering. Bogus decision.

California Horse Racing Board Rules
Rule #1954 Parimutuel Pools.
The association shall provide, win, place and show pools in any race in which there are five or more separate wagering interests which are obligated to start. The association shall provide winand place pools where there are four separate wagering interests which are obligated to start.The association shall provide a win pool only in any race where less than four separatewagering interests are obligated to start. Upon a showing of good cause, the Board may waive the requirement for a place or show pool in any race.

Notice that improbable Galloped rather than ran for three quarters of the race like he was out for a breeze....lol..all the others were racing ,and even then ,were not held in check but had the jocks just riding along so.s they might no fall off etc, lol...this horse has great spirit and wants to be a race horse....lol...a natural...
