Sierra Leone should finally get the pace he needs, Gould’s Gold tracks and runs 2nd in a battle with Pony Express and Batten Down.

Sierra Leone is knock down dead gorgeous. Can't fault him. He will win at longer distances.
I don't think Jim Dandy winner has ever won the Breeders Cup Classic.

He is 0 - 2 at distances longer than 9F. Sounds like what they were saying about Gun Runner all of 2016 when he was 3. Then what happened? Anyway, Will Take Charge ran 2nd in JD and won the Travers But can i ask...what is the expectation that horses must set wirld on fire at age 3. Maybe that is our problem....since so many are washed up at the end of their 3rd year. All iknow is i look at that hirse in the flesh...then at the pedigree. All i see is magnificent. Maybe he needs a new trainer...but.actually horse is not doing badly though... Maybe he doesnt lije the track at SAR or maybe this is just the fate of a true deep closer? I cant type on a notepad virtual kb, sorry

I don't expect Fierceness in the Travers. He is a hot house flower who can't run very often...that race would be too soon for him.

S.L. is burning a whole lot of money. Many people did that with Tacitus, a horse I never wagered a single dollar on in his entire career. In 2016, I bet Gun Runner in the KY Derby. I was sure he would win. He did not. Then I watched him lose the Haskell, the Travers, the Pennsylvania Derby, and the Breeders Cup Mile. In very late 2016 then 2017, he became a different horse. A true champion. Ive been loyal to Dornoch, too. Sometimes people give up on a horse and it is the right thing to do. Other times, not so much. I think we've all been in these situations. I'm not ready to give up on SL . Yet......this was the only race I wagered him to win though...i never have before. This perplexes me. Why I now find myself in his corner. Seeing him again in the post parade just did somthing to me.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Mindframe, runner-up in the Belmont Stakes and Haskell, will be sidelined for the rest of the summer and early fall due to bone bruising, co-owner Mike Repole said Wednesday. Additionally, Repole also said he is now leaning toward running Fierceness, the Grade 2 Jim Dandy winner, in the Grade 1, $1.25 million Travers Stakes here on Aug. 24. www.drf.com/news/mindframe-sent-farm-bone-bruising
