Interesting. All of Brad Cox's horses have been scratched from races at Remington Park on Friday night for reasons that have not been explained publicly. Fidget and Gettysburg Address were entered in the Remington Springboard Mile, a road to the Kentucky Derby points race. Juvenile filly West Omaha was the 7-5 morning-line favorite in the Trapeze Stakes. Pioneer of Medina, Cox's only older horse on the card, was the 5-2 morning-line choice for the Jeffrey A. Hawk Memorial Stakes. www.horseracingnation.com/news/Report_All_Brad_Cox_horses_are_scratched_Friday_at_Remington_123

The lack of transparency in Horse Racing is ridiculous. Can you imagine if just before an NFL or NBA game that players were taken out of the line up without any explanation to the fans or bettors 😳

I wax nostalgic for days of old. There are so many problems with racing today, and it seems that with time the game is doomed as a stand alone. Fewer racing venues, horses, races, alternate wagering avenues, rebates offered to the few reaping the rewards and on and on......difficult to see the positives through the constant negatives we witness.

What is most notable to me is that they left en masse. His spin doctors probably working overtime today.
One source at the track said Friday evening, "Horses were on the grounds and left either late last night or early this morning, from what I am hearing."

Got this off a FB forum
Found out why Cox did not run his horses at RP last night. I’m at Oaklawn this morning and one of my horses is in barn beside them. They shipped horses to RP 2 days before race and assistant at OP went ahead and gave them Bute and another drug for pre race and when they got to RP the assistant there called vet and did not check with OP assistant and had vet come out and give them the same two drugs again. So if he would have raced he would get suspended and everybody would be saying we knew he was a cheater !!! So he scratched them all. Owner of springboard race was not happy about it. But when ur 3/5 and scratch because of communication error then I would be pissed also

That is worse than the the old "Don't like the post position" line Baffy uses.

American racing will not get another penny from me. I've been increasingly turned off by it. Baffert winning the Triple Crown not once, but twice, was the final straw. Enjoy.

Jeff, I've drastically cut my wagering dollar also.(have not entirely walked away...but can see that not too far off) The fun is hard to find anymore. (It's still there to a certain extent but overshadowed by the constant negatives ) A day at Saratoga must still bring you some joy. (the part that keeps us in the game, friends and a lifetime of great racing and moments over the years ) The "wax nostalgic" in my sentence is something today's handicapper(new to this game) will never know.

This is just a strong indicator of overuse and stacking of NSAIDs. They are so prevalent and dosed into horses on such a regular basis, so it's no wonder something like this happens.
As a "human arthritic", I get it. And running on dirt is hard on the musculoskeletal system.
But I am not a youngster, and I see no reason that horses who are young are getting all this!!
If running on dirt requires this then maybe we should rip it up and put in Tapeta or something.
