...and I was pissed when eggs reached $5 a dozen....... Interesting fact: Tucked into a typical Scottish warehouse, first-fill ex-bourbon barrels reliably yield flavors of vanilla, caramel, and honey – lovely on their own, and also a sturdy canvas for layering finishes such as sherry, port, and rum. About 90 per cent of Scotch whisky is aged in ex-bourbon barrels.

Have always loved the 12yo and 18yo, though the 18 and 25 are now priced beyond what u am willing to pay.fortunately sitting on a couple bottles of 12yo and don’t drink it often. I go to 8yo Glenmorangie as the house pour
Good single malts and Cal Cabernets are seriously priced these days….

Steve, does Glenmorangie have an 8yo ? I know they revamped their labeling recently (which I hate) but I didn’t think they had any single malts less than 10yo. www.glenmorangie.com/shop

Agree, the 10 yr Glenmorangie, is very good. I still have bottle of 18 yr Genmorangie and 18 yr Auchentoshen, which I bought quite a while ago and have been "saving"- for what I'm not sure.
