GOING- Good CAU 7:15 1m4f Caulfield Cup (Group 1 Handicap) (3yo+) (Turf)www.racingpost.com/racecards/469/caulfield/2023-10-21/852507Early betting market is wide-open, with Gold Trip a slight 5-1 favorite. #2- Without a Fight (6-1) was a reasonably classy GIII-winner in GB, consistent 6yo gelding (21/9-3-4) wants good-to-firm ground for his best, and should get it. Had no shot at 2 miles over soft going in last year's Melbourne Cup. Gets 6lbs from the top one. 12F on good is right in his wheelhouse, they may go on to the Cup again, but this is his best chance for a $5M GI win. Perhaps someone knows why jockey Zahra gets off Gold Trip to ride this one? PP7 should be fine. #10- Hoo Ya Mal (10-1) was with Andrew Balding in GB, ran second to Desert Crown in the 2022 Epsom Derby. 4yo gelding also wants it good-to-firm, floundered in the Melbourne Cup last year. Slowly raced into form this year, with a good second in a GII last time, at a too-short 9.5F in a career best effort. Drew PP8, and gets 12lbs from Gold Trip. I am liking both Gai Waterhouse horses, Hoo Ya Mal or Goldman for the Win.
Outside of the 3 chalks (of which I still like Gold Trip the best out of those 3) others of interest to me are: Montefilia, Fame, Breakup (odds too low for me to play to win, will save for the Melbourne Cup though), Right You Are, Fracesco Guardi, Emissary
Wide open field, anyone can jump up and win this.
United Nations got in on the luck factor, would make a good longshot at killer odds. A lot of nice influences in that pedigree, but true of all of these. But Fame will be my big longshot I think. Montephilia will be terribly underestimated in this race IMHO.

Twinspires customer service: "we have already looked into this and our australian provider is not showing us this race so we will not be carrying it."

Interesting controversy.
I don't believe you can whip a horse into a win anyway, whipping doesn't make them run faster.
(hich is why I'm against over-whipping in the first place.)
Only if horse is not giving their all, or is not paying attention/doesn't have head in the game/has lost focus, or needs a correction because they are drifting or something.
Looked to me like most saved ground until the stretch, with the top 2 horses prevailing.
However, the rules do need to be applied fairly and in standard format. However, watching races in Dubai and AUS (patterned similarly) we see lots of fines and suspensions for riders handed down, i.e. excessive use is grounds for penalties for the rider------ but not to the horse. So in that way it is pretty much standardized.
