Keeneland should be fast/firm later on, with three stakes of BC interest: Indian Summer S. (5.5F turf 2yo)- www.equibase.com/static/entry/KEE100823USA8-EQB.htmlSpinster S. (GI, 9F 3up f&m)- www.equibase.com/static/entry/KEE100823USA9-EQB.htmlBourbon S. (GII, 8.5F turf 2yo)- www.equibase.com/static/entry/KEE100823USA10-EQB.htmlWoodbine was off the turf yesterday, and will have showers in the forecast, but they have two GIs on the grass today: E.P. Taylor S. (GI, 10F turf 3up f&m)- www.equibase.com/static/entry/WO100823CAN7-EQB.htmlCanadian International S. (GI, 10F turf 3up)- www.equibase.com/static/entry/WO100823CAN9-EQB.htmlNearctic S. Kee card starts slow with smallish fields of claimers.Still, someone has to win.
Kee2 Mclm100K 3+ F&M 8.5f 5 Gather 8/1,Drops in for Arnold after lone start at EP where she did little running.Stretches to two turns and gets Jose Lezcano I haven't given up on Ian....yet.I'll watch the board on this one 6 Rita's Onthe Beach 12/1,goes turf2dirt,showed a little life in the KD sprint.Could pop at a price GL

Kee3 I'm a little intrigued with 1 Arella Star 15/1,blinkers come off for the return to the claiming ranks.Ran in G1 and G3 races at GP for Morey, went first time for tag at the Spa.Claimed off the nice try for second in that race by That's Amore and Ian Wilkes for 35K.Next time out runs in a Allowance NW3L under new trainer/owner Orantes Yoni.Don't know much about him other than he's never won in 12 life time starts. Now toss in the wrench......Luis Saez up
I'll take a stab

Just wanted to say that the longshot winner at KEEN R10 (Can Group), if you follow oaklawn esp. but really any races across the country, you learn not to underestimate owner/breeder Mr. Poindexter. He is at OP a lot and a huge supporter of Iowa racing as well. If y ou are looking for a LONGSHOT always consider him. He's been a leading owner / breeder at Oaklawn Park but ranked in the top 100 nationally by winners as an owner because of where he bases his broodmare band (to breed to horses in KY and elsewhere) At any rate, in terms of breeding, True Ncks had given CAN GROUP an A++ rating which not many horses achieve. Plus, Arrieta is, IMHO, in the 3 top riders at OP. I'll also take this opportunity to make a plug for Lynn Chleborad who trains for him a lot. If she has 50 horses in her barn, you can guess that about 1/2 of them are OK breds. I sing her praises, was "the winningest female trainer at Oaklawn" for many years......and not even ONE medication violation during her entire long career. (she did get a fine for an argument with a track vet, I think she used a curse word, but that's it.). She is also a feet on the ground wonderful person. I remember during covid when it was up in the air if they would have Prairie Meadows open, trainers like her kept people employed and many jockeys and their families depended on outfits like that, to put food on the table. I just like to champion many of the "smaller barns" across the U.S. Racing universe, not just the big syndicates, big names, and million dollar plus horses. This was a chance to do that.
