For your viewing pleasure. The slo-mo at 1:30 made me fall backwards a little in my chair. Pretty unbelievable talent here. Love the dutch announcer: "she has unleashed a dragon........a fire breathing dragon......" .... "the horse is a freak of nature.....he's an alien...this horse wasn't born out of a mare, he was not bred, I think he landed from a spaceship or a UFO...." "oh my, oh my" Everyone in grandstands is on their feet. Horse seems like he doesn't need a rider, he comes out of bridle, does complex jumps from almost a complete standstill, still does his job to perfection. Anyway uplifting eye candy that will make your day brighter as it did mine. Pretty sure the same horse won in 2021 as well, though I don't follow show jumping enough to be sure. I learn from watching horses. Doesn't matter if they are racing or jumping. The good ones have stuff in common. Con Quidam RB looked like he was adjusting his head to line up to make a jump and get in sync with his rider. They are a good match. Most obvious: this horse is such a happy horse, it is written all over him. Friends and I started talking about how so many of the elite horses are "happy horses". Big Red, Zenyatta, Smarty Jones, Ruffian, Black Caviar, Frankel (too many others of course, but something I always look for esp. when at the track in person). The way Frankel hit the ground..that relish; on dirt Ghostzapper laying it down and loving eyeball-to-eyeball. I remember seeing this in the field trials with retrievers. Many did not love their work, because of bad trainers putting pressure on them. not the way to mak them love it. Seen way too many of THOSE.
