The circuit is coming to the north bay, Graton Casino in Rohnert Park. I will be reggin some games. Been playing once or twice a week in dailies the past month and a half. Couple cashes, one a 5th place finish. Stuck under a hun. V fun. Love the players, dealers and directors. Now I KNOW dailies are a money loser, no matter your acumen for the game. Regged em to get live volume before the circus errrrr the circuit comes to town. Feels well worth it. V, almost too comfortable in these games.
Schedule is looking like... Fri Aug 11, 600bi, 2 day, 250k guarantee Sun Aug 13, Day 2.
If elim from Aug 11 game... Sun Aug 13, 400bi, 1 day, 50k guarantee
Mon Aug 14, 600bi, 1 day, 6 max, 0 Guarantee
Sun Aug 20, 400bi, 1 day, 0 Guarantee
Wish me some run good!

Good luck!
Been playing tournament style lately Using my old blackjack strategy Don’t go dead — make someone beat you Don’t chase early on With 8-9 per table, someone is going to have something, and don’t fall for those shoving early on — u want to be around to cash
jmo experience
Besides, toga has become a mess to avoid

Send good energy and I ll harness it. Regarding your strategy, I must argue w it. You can chase early but you need to be the agressor dictating the action and applying pressure w semibluffs. You're gonna get folds a lot more than you think and build a stack. And I don't think you should play for a cash. You should play for a top 3 finish. The 5th I got was a 5 way chop for good dough and I might've won outright but we were all very very short. You're not gonna cash often enough to do well, so play to make a run. If you're elim early, oh well. Jmo experience and back atcha! Let's go!

Where I have been playing(Cincinnati--Sarasota--St Pete--Prairie Meadows), it seems like a few get very aggressive in the first 2-3 hands, usually with a few going all in then. Honestly I would rather have nothing the first few hands(unless you fall in to a lock) to avoid early carnage and waste. Then again--nothing better than taking out a player or two right off the bat. Then I sit tight for a while watching everyone beat up on each other and the fish(while trying not to be one). I have a 3rd and two 5ths recently—lower bi 50-100 maybe a 200 --never in the hunt for the win though--just playing survivalist until the opportunity to swoop in over the top of someone(s).
I am always amazed at how many players and dealers know each other--when I recognize players from past tables, I start to wonder about myself.....
Different styles--I am probably too passive(in fl contrast to every other angle of my life).

ok bustout prop for ya. real hand from a recent game.
pre. 30-35 minutes in. second level. 200/300/300bba. three villains and you are all stacked at about 25k. hijack player raises to 800. you look down at red aces in the cutoff. you reraise to 2400. button calls, big blind and hijack call.
4 way action to the flop and the pot is now 9800. it falls ace 9 10, the 9 & 10 are clubs. you have top set on a dynamic board. big blind checks. hijack bets 3k. my question to you is what's your response to this? mine was to fast play and big. i wanted to give all the draws, all the 87, QJ, KQ, KJ and all the two club hands a crappy price to go after their draws. i loved the prospect of playing for stacks too. if i went out, oh well. i went full pot 13k and the button shoved all in and had me covered. everyone else folded. would you ever lay it down here? not ever. he won't get there but a third of the time. dude turned over, and this isn't a joke, 4-2 of clubs. river club and i'm out. so it goes. in order to live you gotta be willing to die. nhgg. next!

Not much to discuss imo. You were towering over everyone, with a straight to the 9-10 and a flush to the two clubs in your way. You forced out everyone but the four clubs and got rivered.
It happens, and happens often.
If you had not gone all in and maybe kept another player or two contributing to your strong hand, you would have still lost—still been alive but much shorter stack.
Two suited in the hole is tough from either side

It all goes back to the basics discussed above….. You went for the kill full knowing what could beat you. You knocked out all but the one who was playing for either a straight or flush(though you could have filled with a 9 or 10).
You could have settled for less and still be alive with a brutal river beat.
Something to think about on the early ride home…..
Caveat being I probably would have shoved same as you

Thanks UIC! I'm gonna take that good energy and use it as fuel for a deep run.
Too geeked and up before I wanted to be. Will use the extra time to ride bicycle 10 miles right after I post. Studies show a light workout to begin the day helps you focus throughout it.
Nutrition. Like the home state, I'll be full of fruits and nuts today. Strawberry, peanut, blueberry, cashew, banana, avocado. Adding protein for dinner. London broil cheese, and green beans. Bringing a cooler for the perishables and lots fizzy water.
Let's run good today.

From Pete...
Day Ends w 20players, 10% of the field size for the day and there's 54 left. Starts paying at 29, but I just care about going into Sunday w at least 200k.

sorry to report that i busted someplace around 40th-45th place. v standard tournament spot and it was indicative of how i ran late in the day. there are days like this. they're the games where every time you're all in pre you're ahead but you get passed. again and a-fuckin-gain. at the level before the 3rd break, 1500/3k/3kbba there were a lot of short stacks that needed to go all in pre w like 30k-40k behind. i went into that level w a healthy but not overwhelming 160k stack. here's what i lost aip w to shorten me up quite a bit those 30 minutes...my ak vs their a3. my aj suited vs their a8 off. my qq vs their jj. in a run neutral level i win two of those and enter the post break level w 170k-180k instead of 98k. the death hand...pre. 2k/4k/4kbba. i'm on the button. 5 tables left. our table was 8 handed. there's an open to 9k from middle position by a deep stacked player w maybe 250k behind. there's a call from the cutoff by a player w about 70k behind. i began the hand w 86k and i held pocket 10s. i decided to 3 bet all in. deep stack went into the tank and called after maybe 60 to 75 seconds. cutoff folded. he turned over ace ten and binked an ace on the flop. nhgg. next!

i should say i had a blast out there in this game. it was a richter scale session, where everything that went to a runout was an upward trending graph, but the aip spots would take me back down time and again. it's odd that the one time i bested an aip vs a shorty was when i called w 99 and beat their qq. it was like you wanted to gii bad almost. idk. smh.
i played against a twenty something asian kind who wore a mask, reading glasses and a green ballcap w a grizzly bear on it. every table i was at, so was he. it was an honor and a privilege to play against such a highly skilled beast. i ran a v credible high pressure bluff on him that put him in the v worst spot and he somehow after possibly 5 minutes of river tanking found the crying call. 99% of players fold there. respect. major respect. i put him as he said, 'in the blender.' i pick him to win the whole game. shoulda asked his name.
