Ran into smallMac this morning, he kindly bought our breakfast. Best weather day of the meet by far. Fast, and hopefully firm-ish later.

awesome and thanks. breakfast is the most important meal of the day. if possible if any trophies or cups are awarded for races that anyone is in attendance for, to take a picture of them. thanks for your time in this matter.

How was the food? Have not done it in a few years, usually just grab a coffee on my way. We didn’t do the breakfast on the Porch, just coffee and donuts and such. The food at the buffet breakfast is pretty good, but nothing unusual or outstanding. Just eggs in some form, one or two proteins (bacon, sausage, etc.), fruit, cereal, bagels, and pastries. Good coffee. Prices went up again this year (no surprise) now $30 for adults! But still worth doing a few times, even a diner would get $20. Not what you’re eating, it’s where you’re eating it! We just talked to George Weaver for a minute. I asked him if I should call him “Sir George” now, after his Royal Ascot win. He said “Maybe if I do it twice, then you can.” 😉 He was kind about English food, just saying “It’s not their strong suit.” They found a couple of good places eventually. TW

2nd race: After universal buzz horse Walstib (Grateful Dead fans, what a long strange trip it’s been ) flipped out in the gate and was scratched, we watched Ken McPeek walk towards the Union Avenue exit, shoulders slumped with a ‘don’t even talk to me’ posture. Hope the horse is ok. Meanwhile, Rudy Rodriguez gets off the duck with Antonio of Venice. TW
