Sheikh Abdulla Almalek Alsabah on why he moved Asadna etc:
‘I've been an owner in my country and Saudi Arabia for 35 years and I respect George's facilities, but I told him not to run Asadna as the horse had hurt himself at home before the race.
Asadna is a champion and I was angry and took the horses. I told him not to run, but he told me not to worry and he finished ninth I've paid my bills and thanked him and everything is okay, but one hour before the Commonwealth Cup declarations he called me and said Al Dasim was lame.
The vets at Royal Ascot then said Danger Alert couldn't run and I wondered what was going on. I spend millions of pounds on horses every year and if I lose, I'm not angry or upset, but it's very important there is openness between the owner and trainer

Yes
George Boughey’s response
‘Asadna sustained a cut on his shoulder on the Friday morning before Royal Ascot and I immediately notified the BHA vets, as well as my own vet. He did not miss a day of work and was at no point lame. The BHA was sent step-by-step reports, including regular photos of the cut and videos of the horse trotting up sound as well as the horse cantering prior to declarations on the Sunday, hence why the horse was passed fit to run. He was also subject to the usual on-course pre-race BHA veterinary checks at Ascot

Maybe I am reading this incorrectly, however, if the owner says don't run the horse, then why would a trainer go against that?
Something is not adding up for me here, so maybe I am misunderstanding the situation.

Jeff , your reading of the situation is accurate. This owner has a history of firing trainers but as you say if the owner says don’t run then you don’t run !

Similar happening with a Team Valor trainer in Europe last month.

Also looks like jockeys of Valiant King, Artorius, and Canberra Legend got suspensions for using whip more than allowed (six strikes and you're out).
Add to that Detorri's 2 suspensions so he won't be on Kinross in July Cup or Emily Upjohn in the Coral Eclipse. Oisin won't be on Shaquille now either, for being 1 strike over the whip limit on Valiant King.

this is why certain people shouldn't have nice things, or, in this case jobs. sum1 pays you to take care of their property and you are contractually obligated to follow their instructions (let's just say "within the law" for the sake of discussion) they tell u knot to do something with their property and you do it anyway fired blacklisted suspended and sued. many people harp on how owners can't possibly not know what their trainers are doing then you see this
