Wednesday The Carlisle Bell Handicap was first run in 1599. The larger, gold bell was donated by Lady Dacre, and is inscribed: 'The sweftes horse thes bel to tak for mi lade Daker sake' (The swiftest horse this bell to take for my lady Dacre's sake) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlisle_Bellwww.mirror.co.uk/sport/horse-racing/worlds-oldest-sporting-trophy-418-10699993CAR R4 (10:50am ET)- 1m (7f173y) Carlisle Bell Handicap (Class 4) (3yo+) (0-85)www.racingpost.com/racecards/8/carlisle/2023-06-28/842097#2- The Cookstown Cafu (8-1) has been right there in all four starts this year, carries co-topweight but there isn't much of a spread between the top ten or so. #8- Mostawaa (8-1) is my pick under Hollie Doyle, despite a wide draw in PP11. Can lead or tuck in, but will have the stamina needed turning back in distance. WIN- 8 EX- 2,8/1,2,3,4,7,8,12 CAR R5 (11:20am ET)- 1m3f (1m3f39y) Cumberland Plate Handicap (Class 4) (3yo+) (0-85)www.racingpost.com/racecards/8/carlisle/2023-06-28/842096Couldn't find one to lean on, so four horse box using consistent types. Daughter of Kodi Bear might be a good one. Perhaps Hooper has a comment. WIN- 7 EX- 1,7/1,2,7,9 TW

What a truly historical trophy to win! Props to Hollie.
I had no idea about the history of this race.......first run in 1599, that's a wow. Thanks for the education.
She's truly an amazing rider. When she is on a horse, I take a triple look.
