Irish racing has been one of the bright spots for my bankroll this year. Let's try a few races from Cork today, including the Midsummer Sprint Stakes (Listed), the Munster Oaks (GIII), and the Cork Derby which, despite its name, is a handicap for 4yo and up.
Maybe Hooper can shed some light on the current form of the recent Team Valor acquisition Go Athletico. I remember him as a good 2yo in France, liked softer ground.
GOING: Good-to-yielding
COR R4 (1:00pm ET)- 5f Midsummer Sprint Stakes (Listed Race) (3yo+)

#3- Pirate Jenny (12-1) was progressive through her first four starts, including a maiden win here as a 2yo and a near-miss second as a 3yo filly in this event last year. Her form tailed off at the end of the season, but she ran well fresh at 2yo & 3yo, so hoping that Ger Lyons has her ready to fire on seasonal debut. #4- Ano Syra (3-1) is a consistent 4yo daughter of Kodiac, ran very well to be third in GII at the Curragh last month on reappearance, now drops in class and turns back to 5F, with jockey Ben Coen maintaining the partnership.
EX- 3,4/1,3,4,5,9
COR R5 (1:35pm ET)- 1m4f Munster Oaks Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies & Mares) (3yo+)

#1- Rosscarbery (7-2) seems to have these outclassed, won this race last year but was more race-fit then, making her 5yo debut today. Doubt the m/l holds. Daughter of Sea The Stars now runs in Lady Bamford's silks (Maroon), excellent broodmare acquisition if nothing else.
TRI- 1/2,5/ALL
COR R6 (2:10pm ET)- 1m4f Cork Derby (Premier Handicap) (4yo+)

#9- Star Kissed (4-1) is a lightly-raced 4yo Sea The Stars filly from Newtown Anner Stud/Ger Lyons. Just missed on debut here as a 3yo, broke her maiden in third try over heavy ground at Bellewstown. Won a handicap at Rosscommon in her last over good ground. Waiting for all the pieces to finally come together, betting that today is that day.
