The financial crisis you refer to in 2008 was under the watch of George W Bush, who was in office from Jan 2001 to Jan 2009. There was less regulation for financials during those years just as now (Enron, mortgage lenders etc). My daughter worked for Lehman Bros when they went under so I followed it closely. As we discussed maybe a year ago (?), I (we) put money into cash and were waiting for buying opportunities. Everyone knew it was unsustainable when people were spending millions on digital art etc. Pulled the trigger on BAC and JP Morgan yesterday,9-10 P/E, will see long term. Large financial institutions need more regs not less in my opinion but we'll never agree on that. You think this a buy chance or too early? Sold the JP Morgan today at $157, bought at $131 in March. Short term Epstein liability, buy on big dip if happens. Ready for Fasig-Tipton next week.(Not) Still holding BAC at $32, up from $28 in March. So-so.

I learned long ago that the banks are not the friend of the individual or businessman. I also invest in successful businesses that I deal with that are screwing me. + the banks are already proven to be too big and vital to be allowed to fail.
You have to love the current market condition. Everyone is winning big time. Why? As for a while, where else are you going to put most of your $$?. And that goes globally—foreign $$ coming in pumping up the ticker.
I have also held on to real estate that I acquired long ago—That is my hedge against the market.
We are gamblers here—We all know that everyone can’t keep winning forever. But where do you put cash??
U tell me——what are everyone’s plans and thinking….where do we go from here?

I have also held on to very attractive real estate that I acquired long ago(3 FL beachfront condos—2 classic homes). That is my hedge against the market. Upkeep being the issue. I should sell something except for tax consequences. We are gamblers here—We all know that everyone can’t keep winning forever. But where do you put cash?? U tell me——what are everyone’s plans and thinking….where do we go from here? do you need a housesitter? preferably knot in fla...

FL is happening A recent article listed the 10 most chosen places desired as a move 5 of the top 9 are in Florida Despite what the mainstream media wants you to believe, most all types of human categories are flourishing in FL I see it growing every day—the new US haven for people looking for safety and opportunity while somewhat avoiding homeless and crime and over taxation that provides less every day The museums, music, culinary, architecture, gatherings—something for everyone
I am currently insured, however it is becoming an issue And i am not so sure what my insurance will honestly get me if I am in the middle of a catastrophe. I also see the insurance market withdrawal as a somewhat esg reaction to desantis and FL going red The fact that FL is popularly attractive is driving the political status quo crazy imo

I took a drive from Ocala over to Flagler Beach the other day and then up to St Augustine . Great Oceanside properties there . Palm Coast is really booming , lots of new construction.

I have also decided that buying in to thoroughbreds is probably not the answer to above Not unless you need a tax write-off.

Very interesting JD Vance editorial on USA TODAY site. As we sadly predicted here, the railroad, govt and NO POLITICS have ignored this situation. NO POLITICS’s promised visit never happened. Ukraine gets all the money vs disasters here(Hawaii? NO POLITICS no comment)
An interesting read regardless of your politics It could happen anywhere near you
That railroad ran those trains within 50 yards behind one of my buSinesses in my prior life
Tried to copy paste here but I can’t do it
We shall see how the fed/pres react if S Cal has a catastrophic wet weekend---seriously hope not--Del Mar could be in the sights Those hillside cities and ocean front homes arent build for what might happen
Hope for the best!
