Has anyone seen the film Menu? Very unusual, and for me, disturbing. The food looked good though.

I plan to see The Menu shoes. Looks creepy! Pit BBQ. When I lived in a small town of 300 we would cook real pit BBQ. We dug a "pit" about 2 feet wide by 20 feet long.Lined this pit with bricks. It was an event where a dozen or so of us would wrap six or eight briskets tightly in foil. Before we wrapped the beef we had a rub we massaged into the briskets.I order this rub from a place in Houston called Texas BBQ Rub. I order a dozen bags because its awesome on anything. Beef, chicken, pork plus I add a cup when I make chili...anyway, fill the pit with the dirt and kick back and let it cook 8-10 hours! Remove the briskets, unwrap and slice against the grain.

Wiki. The clambake or clam bake, also known as the New England clambake, is a traditional method of cooking seafood, such as lobster, mussels, crabs, scallops, soft-shell clams, and quahogs. The food is traditionally cooked by steaming the ingredients over layers of seaweed in a pit oven. The shellfish can be supplemented with vegetables, such as onions, carrots, and corn on the cob. Clambakes are usually held on festive occasions along the coast of New England, and at fundraisers and political events. Some restaurants and caterers offer clambake-style food.

This is not spanky. Layer newspaper on a large table, dump the food on and dig in! Clam or shrimp... enjoy a boil!
