January 2 is the first day of the Godolphin contest at Meydan, and Godolphin has a number of runners entered. However, from my search of the contest site, fewer than half of them are listed as horses that can be placed in the contest stables. A number that I wanted to select, i.e. Dubai Legacy, Sendeed and Final Song, are listed as owned by Godolphin but I could not get them into my stable. Very curious.

Ya, I spent about 3 hours going through all their runners THEN went to the contest list only to find out my favourites weren't there :-)

Finally managed to pick up some bonus points. Was beginning to think it was a lost art. That plus wins by Magic Lily and Ya Hayati today helped me move up to 210th with 2900 points. Also found my stable name in the top 50 for the February leaderboard, but just barely. Now need to figure out the best way to use the remaining 3 stable changes.
And when I went to the overall standings page, there was Hot Scot Racing Stable, looking down at me from the top of page 5, having moved up from last week to a tie for 198th. Nice work, Mr. H.

Lots of points available for anyone who swapped their stable horses for yesterday's races. Almost all of the Godolphin horses running were well placed, especially in the Group 2 and Group 3 races.
Received the following message this morning: "Dear Jolyan, Congratulations – Your Fantasy Stable performed well and earned you the following points:
• Dream Castle (GB) - 200 points • Dubai Love (GB) - 200 points • Ghaiyyath (IRE) - 300 points • Land Of Legends (IRE) - 80 points • Major Partnership (IRE) - 40 points • Mythical Magic (IRE) - 300 points • Spotify (FR) - 200 points • Zakouski (GB) - 400 points You also earned the following points by correctly guessing the placing in the Bonus Race: • Dream Castle (GB) - 200 points"
I thought that Good Fortune should have also earned points for a 2nd place finish in the 19:05 race. Still, that was sufficient to move up to 144th place with 4820 points.

Thanks Diablo, but it took no skill at all. There were only 12 Godolphin runners on the card last Thursday, and by swapping the entire stable and using those who were running in the races with the most points, the chances were very much in my favor.
I've only got 2 swaps left, so probably won't want to use one of them this week. There is only one Group 3 race this Thursday, and I think it makes more sense to save the swaps for March 3 and March 22, when the cards will feature many Group 1 and 2 races.

I reloaded on the 27th and had 5 horses in the money - but no points. I reached out to ask why ....its cuz the competition ONLY counts the Meydan tourney... Note to self - read the rules - I thought it was like the last one - all year, was SAVING my swaps for Ascot and Breeders cup ....DOH
So I have 2 swaps left and only one race day on the sched....
i) The competition includes all races that are part of the Dubai World Cup Carnival at Meydan Racecourse between the dates of Thursday, 2 January and Saturday, 28 March 2020 (Dubai World Cup Carnival meetings are on 2 Jan 2020, 9 Jan 2020, 16 Jan 2020, 23 Jan 2020, 30 Jan 2020, 6 Feb 2020, 13 Feb 2020, 20 Feb 2020, 27 Feb 2020, 7 Mar 2020 and 28 Mar 2020).
Good luck to anyone still in it - hope to see your name up in lights ;-)

Looking over the final standings, I believe that 5Wide was the highest placed player from our group with a score of 7350, good for 58th place overall [out of 2289 players]. Very well done, 5Wide!
In hindsight I outsmarted myself, passing on a stable change in a later week in order to save my final stable change for the DWC. To coin a phrase - it seemed like a good idea at the time.
