In the 9th at Suffolk on 5/19, Irish Lassie crushed a group of maiden claimers in a race that washed off the turf. She paid an overlaid $2.80 to win and won by 31 lengths, same amount as Big Red in the Belmont.
Chart comment goes like this....
IRISH LASSIE sent to the front, widened the advantage from off the inside, was moving like a tremendous machine into the stretch then kept to a mild drive by the rider though the final sixteenth but never looked back.
So she wasn't really moving like the greatest of all time, but kudos to the chart caller for the Secretariat reference!
