Been looking forward to this for a while.
Few photos above from my trip last spring for Derby/Handicap weekend.
Few quick thoughts on the card.
R1 - The Diodoro entry will get bet down and more than likely cruise. The barn like many has been setting and prepping many up for this meet with plans to have a big meet.
Gonna be my P4 key. Enough speed that one of these should have class prevail.
$0.60 P4 1/2,5,6,7,8,10,12/4,8/2,4,5,7,9 $42
R2 - Wide Open, taking a few shots. Arkansas bred maidens seem to be one of the conditions that the tote board dictates a lot of the handicapping for me.
R3 - #8 Bow and Arrow for M&M looks super logical. Leading owner last year, I'm sure trying to repeat. I threw Davka in here, but that was more cause McKnight beating me is like my least favorite thing, especially at a price.
R4 - Using a few to get home. The 2 intrigues me, with a winner who came back to win. The 5 is worth throwing in off a rough trip first time.
R5 - Pat Daddy is a cool horse but this is tough for him. Someone will shake lookse on me.
R6 - The 6 has an a 34 and change work which is not a Steve work. Steve is all long and slow. But some of his first out winners this summer had a rapid work. So ill take my shot.
$0.60 P4 6/4,7,8,10,11/1,3,5,7,8,9/3,7 $36
R7 - Trying to beat some of the favorites. Good race to watch, good field, just no great feel for anything.
R8 - Smarty Jones Stakes - Taking a few in the 3yo Stake, the speed stretching out could shake loose. I keep coming back to Jack Van Berg and Super Steed, so wanted to try a few.
R9 - #3 Laughing Fox has had 2 rough trips and now stretches out with a route pedigree. Made a good move 2nd time out, think he's very live. Using with the logical favorite the 7 too.
