I watched Cinderella's Dream win twice in Dubai this winter, and she seemed like a solid miler with a VERY good turn of foot, but it can be hard to tell what the competition was like in any given race. Stepped up to 9.5F yesterday after an even seventh-place finish in the English 1000 Guineas, which has turned out to have been a way-above-average race, she absolutely cruised by her foes (in track-record time, although it would be a rarely run distance at Aqueduct in the past) from a pretty disadvantageous position out the back of the field through moderate fractions:
Charlie Appleby has put together a serious traveling team to tackle the US turf programs this summer (Saratoga, Colonial, Kentucky Downs), they look to mean business.
