RAS R1 (9:30am ET)- 7f Chesham Stakes (Listed Race) (Class 1) (2yo)
Non-runners: Chilly Breeze, Harvey, Seaplane
Trying the quinella key again, with the three longer shots as the keys. The two Frankels both won well at first asking, but there's no money in them now. Watch for overbet horses and connections today as the weekend players wade into the pools.
QUIKEY- 10,11,15/1,14
RAS R2 (10:05am ET)- 1m4f (1m3f211y) Hardwicke Stakes (Group 2) (Class 1) (4yo+)
#6- Goliath (20-1) has only raced on ground that was soft or heavy, but I'll take a chance that he can handle good summer ground, and the price will compensate. He's improving rapidly, and the only time he was out of the exacta was against Horizon Dore and Junko, who would be odds-on here. Drew inside in PP1, so Maxime Guyon will need to extract himself from the rail deftly when the real running begins. #8- Middle Earth (5-2) won the Melrose Handicap at York last August, then took a Listed event here over good ground in October. Seasonal reappearance was a gutsy victory over King Of Conquest in GIII at today's distance. Oisin Murphy is riding high at this meet, and John Gosden seemed pleased with this one beforehand.
EX- 6,8/2,5,6,7,8
RAS R3 (10:45am ET)- 6f Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes (Group 1) (British Champions Series) (Class 1) (4yo+)
Non-runner: Kinross
#5- Mill Stream (9-2) gets a lot of flack from pundits, but I'll keep backing him. He's easy to follow in a race in the colorful PW Harris silks (one of my favorites.) Two races this year were a second in a GIII and a win in a GII. He's improving, gets Wm Buick from PP8, lots to like. #11- Washington Heights (12-1) has also improved this season, wants good ground and gets it, Kevin Ryan knows how to produce a sprinter for big races. Should race forwardly behind Art Power if the groups split, that one prefers softer ground.
EX- 5,11/5,6,9,11,12
RAS R4 (11:25am ET)- 7f Jersey Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (3yo)
Non-runner: Take Me To Church
I think that #1- Haatem (5-2) is one of the best bets of the week dropping back to 7F, despite the 3lbs penalty for his GIII win in April. Second and third in two 2000 Guineas, has improved from his 2yo season, drew nicely in PP15 with most of the favored ones drawn high. Will also use #14- River Tiber (9-5) in 'chalk-eating-weasel' exactas, the two of them are just more accomplished than the rest of the field.
EX- 1,14/1,2,5,8,11,12,14 WIN- 1 >= 2-1

down -$125 with 1 day left
time to let it rip....
Chesham #11 PENTILE BAY had an interesting trip first time, but managed to get it done for Boughey. Gets a rider upgrade. O'Brien is obviously strong here with #14 BEDTIME STORY, and once again Appleby LOOKS to be a contender with #1 AGE OF GOLD. My sleeper shot is Johnston's #15 EXPENSIVE ROSE who picks up Murphy. #11 #15 win xbox 1-6-11-14-15
Hardwicke KISS here 2ith #2 CONTINUOUS coming off a decent run in the ARC. #2 win tri partwheel 2/7-8/all xbox 2-4-7-8
Diamond Jubilee No big star in here imo...tired of getting beat by #1 ART POWER Xbox 1-5-6-11-12
Jersey Taking a final stand with #14 RIVER TIBER---I remember last November Aidan saying that he was far superior to UNQUESTIONABLE after RT was scratched at the BC. Hopefully he needed his last and asserts himself. #14 win xbox 1-2-14
5th and probably done xbox 2-8-10-16
good luck! xbox 1-5-6-11-12 tri partwheel

It's shocking how much the Godolphin horses are under performing.

R1 Chesham Stakes 7f
Bedtime Story, Age of Gold Others: Pentle Bay, Duke of Monroth, Defense Missle Longshots: Brian (30-1), Moon Sniper (45-1) Came in Bedtime Story, Pentle Bay, Brian (played in order) but played it cheap boxed 2, 11, 14. Without my longshot it would not have paid, gotta wait and watch the tote.

It's shocking how much the Godolphin horses are under performing. Well let's see how Isle of Jura does in R2, and Cover Up does in R5. Isle of Jura is moving up in class. Cover Up has been off for 2 months. Those are the only runners they have today I think?

Well..........I put a cheap win/place wager on Isle of Jura, just because I figured they had to get a win today, it was a hunch. I saw the odds 13-1 and figured it was a good "value".
ACCEPTED:274ec-e8991 RAS #2 $2 Win/Place 7 none $4.00
COMPLETED:274ec-e8991 RAS #2 $2 Win/Place 7 none $4.00
$36.20 + $32.20

Can I ask a really dumb question? Isle of Jura was 13-1 on U.S. twinspires, but 16-1 on the UK tote. So the pools are not combined, right? So I will only get 13-1 and not 16-1 on my wager.

R3 Khaadem wins at age 8, won this last year at age 7. Amazing how they can keep these horses together past 3-4 years old. BRAVO. Swingalong and Millstream ran next, both 4 year olds. I passed the race.

r4 Haatem win ex key Haaten/ River Tiber, Eban Shaddad , Never So Brave Haatem won. Hope you had a decent win $ on him, 3-1 wasn't too bad, really a gift. Congrats. I had posted last week before the race to watch out for Wathnan Racing entries as I thought they would win a few races at this meet. Interestingly, I just looked at TimeformUS and they didn't have him at all in their top 3 picks, strange. I didn't see Kukuli so there went my exacta and trifeca. I had similar horses in place spot as you did with Haatem as the key. Chicago Critic at 80-1 UK, 60-1 here.....what? maybe mersmag had him due to the chicago name..

I made my biggest win bet of the year on Haatem, and landed the exacta with Kikkuli, so I'm well in the black for the whole meet. That was very satisfying, even if it was a bit too close for comfort.
Might make a couple of cheap boxed wagers in the next three, but taking the profits now. "Ate the meal, left no crumbs, dragged the table outside when I left." Good day.

Race 5 came in 9 Unequal Love, Dark Trooper, Orazio, Lethal Levi. Got that one in quinella and the win bet
9 $31.40 $1.00 Quinella 9/10 $56.60
I only spent $14 and got back $80 +. My plan today is not to LOOSE MONEY.

TW That is fantastic! That was not an easy exacta to land at all!!!! Congrats. I am way ahead for the meet just because of first 2 days.. and a few other good wagers on other days that weren't "as good" ...doing okay today but making very small $ wagers just so I don't lose that bankroll. Today hasn't been too bad for me yet.....

R6 Golden Gates Stakes 1m1f
Old Faithful, Approval Others: Dam Buster, Hand of God Longshot: Black Run (20-1), Nerano (20-1) I did't have Cambridge who ran 2nd. My longshot Black Run ran 3rd in the trifecta and Nerano ran 4th. Too bad they don't have superfectas but wouldn't have helped me since I missed place horse. Did ya'll have Cambridge? I reallly didn't see that one! but should have just based on Class. I did make two $1 trifectas with my longshots in 3rd place and the others in top parts, but no dice.

Congratulations to the winners I ended up -$300 for the week Far from my worst, though disappointing. Rossallion win and the Thursday 1st exacta x3 we my only decent hits—honestly wasn’t close in pretty much every other race
I usually hit a couple of good shotgun exactas or tris, but very little that mattered this week.
Would say that I enjoyed watching it(and I did), but very disappointed with my handicapping and wagering—never felt in synch at any time
Oh well

It certainly was FUN and despite some losing wagers, my wins on Tues and Wed and a few other "sprinkles" on other days still put me about $1,000 ahead. Maybe only $900....will have too do some calculations. I made very small wagers as the days went on as I could see with some of those huge fields it was going to be a TALL TASK to do well in every race. I liked Epsom better but learned stuff here, and also helped me choose some Melbourne Cup horsies. Never a waste to handicap big meets......you always get something out of it, (esp if you go back and re-watch the races and read all the charts for the next races these horses may be in----which I plan to do as the week progresses. I also kept track of the sire wins and places, and will add to that topic I started later).
