We're staying in Saratoga the next two nights, and going back to the races on Wednesday. Obviously this is a tough time for folks to be 'up' about the game, but the wheel keeps on turning. I don't know if anyone here at UIC gives a crap about seeing pictures from the barns and sales ground right about now, but I'll put some up here each day, if only to keep my own self focused. Weather may be dicey (there's a f'ing surprise) but might get to attend outdoors each evening.

Lastly. We went across the road (Madison) to the Taylor Made consignment. A group of horse people was going out the gate through which we had just entered. I felt Colleen grab my arm, tightly. “It’s Melanie (Giddings) and Shaun (Bridgmohan, jockey, her boyfriend, and MLM’s exercise rider).”
Keep moving forward. What else can you do? I was very sad, and very happy, in equal measures, simultaneously. Does that make sense?

I even got to talk with MV Magnier (Coolmore) for a minute. I think he was surprised that I knew who he was, and was happy to have me bend his ear. The crowd out back, which was well ‘lubricated’ by the time the Beholder colt sold, was going mad and cheering every time the bidding hit the next round number. That was pretty cool 😎. We got to meet Jonathan Kinchen and his new bride, her family owns/runs Solevo Kitchen & Social in town. Also, Dean Reeves is a funny ball-buster, but in a nice way. Fun night. TW |
