Saturday
Scones...Earl Grey...Bacon/egg souffle. Well fortified for day five.
• 9.30am – Chesham Stakes (Listed) 7f 2yo
Quatre Bras is out.
#6- Matnookh (15-1) finished third on debut at Royal Windsor for Richard Fahey, was away slowly in last but made up lots of ground. Sea The Stars colt should relish the step up in trip, Buick sticks but needs an alert start. #12- Content (5-1) was also third on her debut, daughter of Galileo is the 'other' O'Brien in here. By the way, major golf clap for the owners of the #11- Carolina Reaper, out of young sire Too Darn Hot. Great name!
EX- 6,12/3,6,12,13,14
• 10.00am – Jersey Stakes (Group 3) 7f 3yo
#5- Covey (9-5) was unraced as a 2yo, making up for lost time with three wins and a second on any surface you could throw at him. Frankel colt for Juddmonte/Gosdens/Frankie. I've always liked #15- Olivia Maralda (10-1) since her first start at the Curragh last year. She can throw in a clunker now and again in GII/GI company. The 1000 Guineas was a bridge too far for her, 7F is her thing. Her Surrey S. (Listed) win at Epsom last time points her out.
WIN- 15 EX- 5,15/2,3,5,9,13,15
• 10.40am – Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes (Group 1) 6f 4up
#9- Kinross (8-1) is consistent, in a race with not much of that on display. Would have preferred to see a prep race, but Ralph Beckett wouldn't run him here if he wasn't ready. Frankie one more time for his good friend Marc Chan. I've been following the exploits of #13- Wellington (5-1) the past year, Ryan Moore rode him in Hong Kong in March. He's about as good a sprinter as you'll find going 6F. M/L odds might look like a gift afterwards.
EX- 9,13/2,9,11,13,14
• 11.20pm – Hardwicke Stakes (Group 2) 1m 4f 4up
With Hukum out, this is pretty wide open. I'll try to beat favored Free Wind, but would be happy to see her win.
EX- 2,4/2,3,4,6,8
• 12.00pm – Wokingham Stakes (Heritage Handicap) 6f 3up
Always the toughest race to handicap every year. Not going to go too deep this time. #8- Orazio (6-1) is a lightly-raced 4yo, seems well-handicapped despite two consecutive wins, Buick returns in the saddle. #13- Lethal Levi (12-1) has been fun to follow since his 2yo campaign, made some good money with him. Karl Burke/Clifford Lee production, looks to be in the thick of this. #20- Apollo One (15-1) is my nap of the day, eighth in this last year, has improved markedly since then and is still on a lowish number.
WIN- 20 EX- 8,13,20/8,13,18,20,23
• 12.35pm – Golden Gates Stakes (Handicap) 1m 2f 3yo
#3- Liberty Lane (15-1), #6- Canute (7-2), and #13- Knockbrex (6-1) looked the most interesting of these 3yos going 10F.
EX- 3,6,13/3,5,6,9,12,13,17
• 1.10pm – Queen Alexandra Stakes (Conditions) 2m 6f 4up
Goshen is out.
Willie Mullins. #1- Stratum (9-5). That is all.
EX- 1/2,7,9
Good luck if you play, and you should!

Going to sit back today and enjoy one of the most visually beautiful racecourse in the world, and the flowers and horses. I somehow escaped the wrath of Ascot and am $200 ahead and don't wish to give it back. What I'll be playing today: R1: Warnie (breeding), Pearls and Rubies R3: Will be rooting for Artorius --- 1x family loaded with Latroienne and love the More Than Ready which boosts the female side, always felt we just didn't "get" MTR over here that's a real shame, but the Aussie breeders did appreciate and picked up on it. Artorius, Big Invasion, Highfield Princess Longshot: Coeur de PierreR4: I KNEW Hokum would scratch if the course came up too firm and had that convo w/a friend last night. I just looked and sure enough....he did scratch. Seems like every horse in here has some problems. Free Wind has the best pedigree for this distance, 6 sires and mares 4x5 to 2x3 Sadlers Wells, but only 2 races in 2 years is a problem. Deauville Legend was the favorite in the Melbourne Cup, who I did not put on my ticket then, and not sure I can now, but running 4th in there he didn't embarass himself....nobody was beating Gold Trip that day. My heart is with Pyledriver, has a killer closing kick and will come down that stretch like the proverbial freight train, but off 11 months is worrisome. West Wind Blows needs the trainer capable of stretching him out longer, he's not hitting on all his cylinders now. Changingoftheguard at least won a G1, hasn't been off forever and I used in the contest because "I needed the vowels" Free Wind, Pyledriver
R5: Apollo One, Chipstead Edit: Box 9,3,7, 20 R7: One of the longest distance races in the world, this one fascinates me. First Emperor, The Grand Visir

LAST DAY---2 ROUGH DAYS--ONE GOOD DAY--AND YESTERDAY SIDEWAYS SLIGHTLY + so lets get above water today
race 1 #9 SAYADATY SADATY is Balding/Murphy, who are due in a race without Applebys or Dettori, and most of the main 2yos have already run. #5 LIGHTNING LEO won a blanket finish with my top choice with #8 QUATRE BRAS just behind. Hannon sneaks in with #13 LA QUARIDA who is already a stakes winner. Aidan is a factor with #12 CONTENT and ml favorite #16 PEARLS AND RUBIES. #9 WIN XBOX 5-9-12-13-16
race 2 #10 HOLLOWAY BOY shocked everyone by winning the Chesham last year in his first start. Was totally out of place going a mile on soft vs Chaldean, and fits a soft spot here today. #5 COVEY is the chalk with Gosden/Dettori as top pair this meet. #7 ENFJAAR figures, as does #9 HOLQUIN underneath. #10 win tri key 5/7-9-10/all
race 3 #9 KINROSS is definitely capable if at his best. #2 ARTORIUS ran huge in this race last year as a steam runner. #13 WELLINGTON comes in from Hong Kong and gets Moore to ride, so that must be fairly serious. Haggas has #15 SACRED #9 WIN EX WHEELS 2-8-13/ALL
race 4 A race loaded with possibles where I can't settle on a winner, but a small win play on #3 DEAUVILLE LEGEND returning from a good effort in Australia last year. Frankie looks strong on #8 FREE WIND--#6 PYLEDRIVER usually fires when I see him in a big race. #2 CHANGINGOFTHEGUARD makes the ticket, as does #7 WEST WIND BLOWS #3 WIN TRI BOX 2-3-6-7-8
hope to be back later gl!

From Chat GPT
As an AI language model, I don't have real-time information or the ability to browse the internet. Therefore, I don't have access to the latest racing results or predictions for specific events. To find out the winner of race 1 at Ascot today, I recommend checking reliable sports news sources, racecards, or consulting a professional tipster who specializes in horse racing. They would be able to provide you with the most up-to-date information and predictions.

Or you can follow my contest picks… get in there Snellen ! As an AI language model, I don't have access to personal opinions or information about specific individuals unless they are widely known public figures. Therefore, I don't have specific information about Bev Hendry or their skill in picking winners. Congrats to Cruzan2002 who had {gasp!} KHAADEM in Race 3. 73-1 holy cow that was a great pick Just takes the one winner .....nice ! only if you still have enough bankroll on Day 5 in the Ascot minefield, to make a "serious" wager. Heck, I'd settle for $2 win wager though.

Heading to the freezer now. I put back a nice piece of Godiva chocolate, for a rainy day.
It's not raining.
I'll just pretend it is, since my picks feel like they got caught in a downpour.
Sorry I missed your killer exacta Spider. I was scanning the posts and missed it. BIG Congrats!~

Hunch bets
Hurricane Ivor, hunch bet in remembrance of Hurricane Ivan , that devastated Cayman in 2004.
Lose your wad which sums up today The Grand Visir just because he's going to win.
