Just Spitballing: Select 6 golfers with at least 2 from each team, get whatever points those 6 total up. Pick a winning team and get a extra 3 points if correct.

looks like the americans have the most experience in the ryder cup....mickleson has been in the ryder cup 11 times and tiger woods 7 times...and there was one person whose name is sam ryder who had points out of the 172 persons possible list but stood at 76 th so did not make it...lol....much more new talent on the euro side this year...12 players in each side...the weather should be good in paris france...some thing to look into...

Without trying to over-complicate the scoring, what about:
Friday, September 28
8.10am Morning Matches (4) start 1.50pm Afternoon Matches (4) start
Pick the day one Team winner (or pick "tie") and Differential (ex.: Europe by 2 1/2)
Points awarded for correct Team or tie (3pts.) and a bonus (unless there is a tie) for how close your Differential prediction was (within 2 or less=1pt./within 1 or less=2pts./exact=3pts.) So, max pts. earned could be 6 with a Team winner and exact Differential, or 3 in the event of a tie.
Saturday, September 29
8.10am Morning Matches (4) start 1.50pm Afternoon Matches (4) start
Pick the day two Team winner (or pick "tie") and Differential (ex.: Europe by 2 1/2)
Points awarded for correct Team or tie (3pts.) and a bonus (unless there is a tie) for how close your Differential prediction was (within 2 or less=1pt./within 1 or less=2pts./exact=3pts.) So, max pts. earned could be 6 with a Team winner and exact Differential, or 3 in the event of a tie.
Sunday, September 30
12.05pm Singles Matches (12) start
Pick the winner of each Singles match.
Points awarded for correct Singles match prediction (2pts.) Max pts. earned could be 24 with all twelve Singles winners. No points for halved matches.
Final scores are the totals of each days points earned (ex.: Day One- Europe by 2 1/2 awarded 4 points; Day Two- USA by 1/2 awarded 6 points; Day Three- Seven Singles matches correct awarded 14 points. TOTAL= 24 points.
Tie-breaker(s): Pick overall Ryder Cup winner, then margin of victory if additional tie-breaker needed. Still tied?= either coin flip, or split prize.
The players for the matches aren't selected until the night before, and France is six hours ahead of USA EDT, so the logistics of making one's selections is problematic for more casual contestants, and folks with time constraints. Friday and Saturday can be picked well in advance, unless a contestant wants to know the golfers in each match to help them inform their decision. Singles matches are announced pretty late, so I don't know how to deadline it. Singles matches will start at 6:00am EDT in the U.S. Contestants' selections might have to be made late on Saturday depending on when the pairings are announced. I can't remember from past years how much lead time there is. Anyone??
OR, maybe I'm overthinking it...

After doing a bit more research, contestants would have up until 12 midnight EDT- 9pm PDT to put in their picks each day (Thurs. night/Fri. night/Sat. night). The Ryder Cup captains submit their singles-match lineups one hour after the conclusion of the Saturday afternoon matches (roughly 6pm in France, which is 12noon in New York; 9am in Los Angeles.) So folks would have all day to figure out their singles match selections.
I guess you'd have three daily selection threads. One contest introduction and format thread. If Hooper is comfortable with the format, and contestants are okay with it, I'd be happy to do the write-up and daily scoring. Suggestions, comments, other ideas welcomed.

Hoop,
I'll add a $10 win bet on the BC Sprint to be awarded however you see fit. I have a special affinity for the BC sprint as I've had the most success over the years in that race.
