TAM R4 (2:22pm ET)- MSW32000 1m40y 3yo
Every season Tampa writes some two-turn dirt races for 3yo, with a small purse enhancement, to lure South Florida trainers to send over a few good ones to get them started. Pletcher has taken advantage of these races for years, and he has two in today. #4- Ringside (7-2) is a FTS $1.3M Curlin colt from a dual stakes-producing mare, purchased by Westerberg/Magnier and friends. Slow works, not convinced today is the day. #5- Suerte (9-2) is a Godolphin product for Eoin Harty, who is based here and having a fine meet. Suerte was second last time to subsequent repeat winner Prairie Hawk going this same distance. Progressive gelding gets FTL & 7lb bug, all systems go. #6- Prove Worthy (7-2) is another FTS Curlin colt, from St. Elias & Repole/Pletcher, this one has shown more lively workouts, gets underrated Pablo Morales aboard. Finally, #7- Summer Cause (2-1) ships over from Payson Park for Waterford/Clement, colt has done little wrong in two starts, both key races. Camacho gets the ride, probably gets sent from his outside draw to secure a forward position. Other three runners appear overmatched on paper. Nice to see all these silks over here.
