Here's to a profitable 2023!
TP R3- OCLM40000N2X 6F AW 4up
#5- Boise (5-2) had been facing better foes, claimed by Maker two starts ago, ran a good closing third at this level here last out. Gets Corrales aboard today. #7- Bohemian Boy (3-1) appears to be the lone speed on paper, was second here last time after dueling all the way around. Hoping for a formful race.
EX- 5,7/2,3,4,5,7 Result: 2,1,5 Boise dueled in between two rivals, had nothing left for perfect-trip rail skimming winner. LOSER

Boise was the best stop on my 2022 Driving Tour.

GP R5- OCLM62500N2X+ 8F turf 4up
I'll bet Danny Gargan knows if #1- Tax (6-1) can handle turf, but I don't, not sure a mile is suitable, against. #4- Eyes On Target (3-1) has been knocking on the door at the N2X level for a while, should have pace to close into. #6- Yes This Time (7-2) has been banging heads with stakes company the last two seasons, just missed when dropped to this level last out, HFTC (7/4-1-1) needs Paco to go through the gears and finish strong.
EX- 4,6/4,6,10,11 Result: 7,10,6 Tax retreated FTT, back to the dirt for him. All the other jockeys just sat chilly while Luis Saez shot right to the front on Casse stretchout-sprinter, got an easy half-mile and it was over after that. Over and over I watch this happen in American turf racing, shaking my head. LOSER

TP R5- MSW70000 6F AW 3yoF
Juddmonte/Cox have #2- Friction (3-1), a FTS from Into Mischief which is working well over the course. Second foal from SP dam. #5- Exhibit Hall (8-1) cost $1.6M at OBS despite no obvious pedigree power, must look like a million too. Showed little in first start, but Paulo Lobo hitting at 41% right now. I like #9- Popnfizz (15-1) for Sarah Hamilton. Homebred daughter of Hard Spun has some speed works, trainer is very good with FTS.
WIN/PL- 9 Result: 11,9,4 Place $19.20 So Wesley Ward invites Kent Desormeaux to come in from California to ride a few for him, including Outadore in the stakes feature later on the card, and he rides the FTS-winner Devious Stares like she's much the best horse, and she was. Popnfizz popped right out of the gate and held the rest safe.
Attn: cherokeescot- Popnfizz is a half to your Isle of Skye, which ran for Wesley's dad Dennis at Tampa. Small world!

Now that Meydan (Dubai) is about to open, I can concentrate on their racing and ditch TAM & GP, but I'll still look at MSW and Stakes there. I'm going to stick with Turfway Park though, I really enjoy their product. Does anyone else play Turfway?
