R5- OCLM32000N2X 5F turf 3upwww.brisnet.com/cgi-bin/briswatch.cgi/public/SpendThrift/TEMPLE+CITY/2005/summary.htmlMorning line favorite #3- Novgorod the Great (7-5) was distant third in its only turf try. Once trainer Gulick got ahold of him and turned him into a stalking sprinter he hasn't looked back. Never out of the money in nine career starts, but he still has the turf question to answer. #8- Balistico (7-2) was claimed at MED by Delgado, who is 26%/57% FOTC. Horse had a nice run of four grass sprints in the mid-Atlantic this summer, moves up in class today on paper, but this is not a strong field of dedicated turf sprinters by any means. #9- Putman (15-1) has extremely low-profile connections, but the horse is a 5F grass runner (9/2-3-1) and could buff up the exacta. Expecting chaos, but don't want to bet all/all. That one ran well in France before shipping into the Clement barn, only missed by two behind Vergara in 2yo stake at AQU last November. Seemed to lose her way as a 3yo and Clement ditched her at MED, where Dini dropped the claim and ran her back at Baqueduct, just missing in a starter-allowance. Camacho takes the mount, sealing the odds below 2-1 at the off most likely. #1- Memphis Showboat (6-1) is the one that caught my eye. Consistent 5yo season, was not too far away in a much better N1X at DEL two back. I think Castanon takes the initiative from the rail and either goes right to the front, or makes an early move on the backstretch to try to put some distance on the others as there is little obvious pace in here. Spreading underneath for a price. Trying for a nice triple score, but not overly confident. TRI- 3/4,7/4,5,6,7,8,10 Good luck if you play! TW
