Dustin Johnson joined Phil and Sergio ,among others,to play in the LIV golf Series in Saudi Arabia and the event will pay the LAST place player 125 thousand bucks. Tax free. Thoughts?

I only watch Tiger. Men’s pro golf is not exciting these days.
Never was a fan of Mickelson, Sergio or Johnson.
Players should do what they believe is right for themselves, and there are always consequences for their decisions. Hard to turn down big money.

Quick, if you give it a chance it's just as exciting as the Tiger era. Tons of young guys playing really well, maybe not one superstar, but 20-30 guys with a shot every week.

Gotta agree with you Eddie. There are only 2 sports that my wife and I watch together - Cardinal baseball and PGA golf. We never fail to see many great shots in every tournament.

There are few foods I would not try ( i.e. liver, gizzards, frog legs) but I'll give haggis a shot if they sell it here. I have never seen it locally. How do you prefer your haggis prepared? Condiments you prefer?

Just watched LIV tour for 5 minutes. Here's the link (posting this link will cause me to lose my PGA tour privileges, but whatever):
I think the format could be compelling and a refreshing shift from normal PGA events (which I enjoy very much and attend when I can). But if it has no TV exposure, in fact facing an active TV boycott from networks who have a vested interest in the PGA tour monopoly, then how would it ever take off? And it's a fight for advertising dollars too. Would I prefer the Saudi's to blow their oil money on Lamborghinis and private Mariah Carey concerts, or big money golf events? At least I can enjoy the golf a little.

The PGA Tour has suspended the 17 members who are competing in the inaugural LIV Golf event, it announced Thursday.
Players who resigned their membership before starting the LIV Golf event being held outside London are also no longer eligible to compete in tour events or the Presidents Cup.
"These players have made their choice for their own financial-based reasons," PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan wrote in a memo to the tour's membership. "But they can't demand the same PGA TOUR membership benefits, considerations, opportunities and platform as you. That expectation disrespects you, our fans and our partners. You have made a different choice, which is to abide by the Tournament Regulations you agreed to when you accomplished the dream of earning a PGA TOUR card and -- more importantly -- to compete as part of the preeminent organization in the world of professional golf."
The memo said players who compete in LIV events are ineligible to participate on the PGA Tour or any other tours it sanctions, including the Korn Ferry Tour, PGA Tour Champions, PGA Tour Canada and PGA Tour Latinoamerica.
