Good betting card. Field sizes 12, 15, 6, 14, 11, 7, 16. TVG has full card coverage.EPS R1 (9:00am EDT)- 6f Woodcote British EBF Stakes (Conditions Race) (GBB Race) (Class 2) (2yo)www.racingpost.com/racecards/17/epsom/2022-06-03/811442#2- Commander Straker (3-1) just missed on debut at Newbury, then got it done in third start at Bath, making the pace each time. Drew a high post, but is headed for the front anyways. #3- Legend of Xanadu (4-1) retains Wm. Buick in the saddle, who rode him to impressive Novice win last out at Redcar. Another which will be prominent in the running. EX- 2,3/1,2,3,4,8,11 Result: 3,8,2 Exacta $58.40 Legend of Xanadu ($8.20) was forwardly placed by Buick, ridden confidently inside the two furlong marker to pass pacesetting Commander Straker, then held off a furious late run from Self Praise for the win. Good start to the day!EPS R2 (9:35am EDT)- 1m½f World Pool Handicap (Class 2) (4yo+ 0-105)www.racingpost.com/racecards/17/epsom/2022-06-03/811440#5- Revich (8-1) won his only previous start at Epsom, shaped well at Chester last time and the presence of Jim Crowley in the irons is noted. #10- Carolus Magnus (12-1) may be the best bet on the card for me. Progressive through eight starts, wants good ground, drew high in 11 but will be headed to the front. Just needs to handle the course. EX- 5,10/1,5,8,10,11,12 WIN- 10 Result: 8,5,2 Two races, two wins for jockey Buick as Totally Charming ($10.20) proves he's more than just an AW specialist, splitting horses to make the front and holding on over fast-closing Revich which ran out of racetrack.EPS R3 (10:10am EDT)- 1m4f Coronation Cup (Group 1) (British Champions Series) (Class 1) (4yo+)www.racingpost.com/racecards/17/epsom/2022-06-03/807639Only six go, but it will be a battle regardless. #2- Hukum (9-2) went well in two Meydan starts this winter, this could be a good spot to land his first GI win. #6- Pyledriver (2-1) won this event last year, ran very well without winning in Meydan last out, worked well for this and retains Frankie in the saddle. EX- 2,6/1,2,3,4,6 Result: 2,6,1 Exacta $21.40 Hukum ($7.40) gets his GI victory under a patient ride by Jim Crowley, he always looked like the winner. I was surprised by how far he beat Pyledriver, as Frankie wasn't wrapping up on him, he had to hold High Definition safe for second. Manobo was warm and washy pre-race, you could see it wasn't going to be his day.EPS R4 (10:45am EDT)- 1m2f Handicap (Class 2) (4yo+)www.racingpost.com/racecards/17/epsom/2022-06-03/811439#2- Soto Sizzler (6-1) won over C&D in April, wants good ground and gets it, Ryan Moore aboard once again. #6- Moktasaab (3-1) has won both of his 4yo starts, improving sort gets weight from the top ones. EX- 2,6/1,2,4,6,8,11 Result: 5,2,8 Royal Champion ($35.00) gets his career back on track after being gelded following a poor showing on 4yo debut in the Doncaster Mile. Roger Varian's yard is as hot as any right now. Soto Sizzler was far back early along the inside, gradually worked his way forward and to the right, but couldn't get to the winner while saving second.EPS R5 (11:30am EDT)- 1m4f Epsom Oaks (Group 1) (British Champions Series) (Fillies) (Class 1) (3yo)
www.racingpost.com/racecards/17/epsom/2022-06-03/807638Among several progressive types running here, couldn't go past #2- Emily Upjohn (6-5) based on her visually impressive win at York, and subsequent gallop prepping for today. #11- With the Moonlight (10-1) has progressed smoothly through her five races, dominating rivals last time in the Pretty Polly on 3yo debut. Godolphin/Appleby/Buick have been quietly confident with her. From a wagering standpoint, easy to get this one wrong. EX- 2,11/1,2,3,5,8,9,10,11 Result: 10,2,5 Tuesday ($16.80) was a big overlay, going off as the third choice behind the two Gosden runners, which did finish 2nd-3rd. Emily Upjohn got off in a tangle and lost several lengths to the field, but she was flying late and just lost the headbob to the winner. Triple came back $121.00 for third choice/favorite/second choice. OUCH!EPS R6 (12:10pm EDT)- 7f Surrey Stakes (Listed Race) (Class 1) (3yo)www.racingpost.com/racecards/17/epsom/2022-06-03/811441#6- Oscula (9-5) has found her niche as a 7F runner; draw a line through ill-advised dirt race in Saudi last time. Won the Woodcote Stakes (see above) here last year. EX- 6/2,3 Result: 3,6,1 Ever Given ($9.00) finally gets unstuck after a poor effort in a GII last time. Oscula ran on strongly but was never getting to the winner.EPS R7 (12:45pm EDT)- 7f Handicap (Class 2) (3yo+ 0-100)www.racingpost.com/racecards/17/epsom/2022-06-03/811443Many of these seem to be off their best form, or otherwise unsuited to be competitive here. #4- Top Secret (9-2) is an improving 5yo which was nosed on seasonal debut last month at Newbury, Hollie Doyle rides him back and could be sitting on a win today. #1- Saleymm (4-1) is the highweight and logical favorite off three good runs in big $$ handicaps this term, has to give away a lot of weight and has yet to win on turf. EX- 1,4/1,2,3,4 WIN- 4 Result: 15,11,7 I could have thrown 10 darts and not come up with any of the top three, as poor turf form as they have shown recently. Bowman ($94.00) made all the running drawn widest in post 15, with Lord Rapscallion right behind from post 11. Exacta came back $1182.20 for a buck; Triple...$14,820.90 for $1.Wagered: $140.00 Returned: $79.80 Loss: -$60.20TW

Wouldn’t you rather have a Buick? Buick—Buick/boughey sprinter Formful start I feel better about this weekend Let’s get the $$ 10f! Boughey is in good form right now, everything he sends out is running. I wanted to see if Totally Charming was more than just an AW horse. He clearly is. TW

TVG coverage is very good, with on course commentary and interviews. Although US-based Scott Hazelton is a fish-out-of-water. He's like the one guy at dinner in the French restaurant who doesn't speak much French and is faking his way through it . TW

Are these pools combined with the US ADW's?

Figured something like that when there was $2million in the WPS pool at Xpressbet.

I like Emily Upjohn, but not as a 3-5 shot. She's overbet. She may win by five, but she's overbet IMO.

I could have walked down to the starting gate faster than Aidan O'Brien's three riders loped down there. Bit of strategy there, hoping rivals use some nervous energy pre-race?

Totally enjoying the Kentucky kid reminiscing on ITV1's coverage.

Fantastic finish to the Oaks, never sleep on Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore, although with any kind of a better start Frankie wins that race. Emily Upjohn was still going full bore, while Tuesday was on fumes at the line.
