YOR R1 (8:50am EDT)- 1m4f Jorvik Handicap (Class 2) (4yo+)
www.racingpost.com/racecards/107/york/2022-05-11/809930
#1- Global Storm (6-1) is the highweight but with Harry Davies aboard gets 7lbs off, horse had a win and a GII-third at Meydan this winter. Didn't run very well in the Ebor here last summer, but his form was starting to tail off at that time, so I'll give him a pass. #11- Forza Orta (10-1) is the lowweight despite a 5lb penalty for his nice win at Hamilton Park last week. This guy is ultra-consistent (8/2-4-2), is improving quickly, and has the Fastnet Rock x Galileo mare breeding that seems so potent. He's worth a separate win bet if his odds stay at 10-1 or better.
EX- 1,11/1,5,8,10,11 WIN- 11 @ >= 10-1
YOR R2 (9:25am EDT)- 6f Handicap (Class 2) (4yo+ 0-105)
www.racingpost.com/racecards/107/york/2022-05-11/809931
22 runners in this top level handicap, with a lot of familiar names in various states of form. I came up with five that can be competitive, so I hope one scratches so I can box the other four. #2- Nomadic Empire (10-1), #3- Bielsa (15-1), #8- Mr Wagyu (12-1), #9- Venturous (15-1), and #16- Woven (10-1) are my five.
EXBOX- 2,3,8,9,16
YOR R3 (10:00am EDT)- 6f 1895 Duke Of York Stakes (Group 2) (Class 1) (3yo+)
www.racingpost.com/racecards/107/york/2022-05-11/806445
Some top sprinters face off at 6F in this Group 2, and they are tough to separate. #6- Minzaal (4-1) is a highly progressive 4yo Mehmas colt for Shadwell, with a GII victory at York as a 2yo to boot.#9- Happy Romance (5-1) has also been quite progressive since last summer, running two fine races in Saudi and Dubai this winter when last seen. This one could easily get overlooked in this field and drift up a bit.
EX- 6,11/1,2,6,8,11
YOR R4 (10:35am EDT)- 1m2½f Musidora Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies) (Class 1) (3yo)
www.racingpost.com/racecards/107/york/2022-05-11/809929
#2- Emily Upjohn (4-5) could not have been more impressive for the Gosden yard when winning by 9+ lengths under Frankie Dettori in her second career start at Sandown last month. It's not surprising that she only has four opponents in here. Can't oppose her, maybe Godolphin won't get second.
EX- 2/3,4,5
YOR R5 (11:10am EDT)- 7f Handicap (Class 3) (3yo 0-95)
www.racingpost.com/racecards/107/york/2022-05-11/809932
Another strong Gosden favorite in this 3yo handicap as #1- Samburu (9-5) looks to stay undefeated for Juddmonte. Frankie rides back on this one as well, son of Kingman isn't a cinch but is hard to go past.
