dont you have to pick the correct person as well as the margin of victory? if triguy had more money how can someone who picked badactor win?
In Public Handicapper contests, it is possible to have a negative score. Both Badactor and triguy ended up with negative totals. Badactor's score was less negative, so he had the better performance of the two. Make sense?

Hi Phil, It was a battle of poor performances! Both triguy and myself were in the red. Badactor 7/107 (- $63.30) triguy237 11/99 (- $79.20) I ended up losing fewer contest dollars and therefore did better (less worse).
Bottom line was... we both "ran a clunker" in this publichandicapper contest.
As the only online handicapper to have ever won 2 publichandicapper championship contests, I can say... "You're only as good as you dare to be bad."

I want to publicly thank triguy for offering to play this game with me, recognizing that it was his way of helping me occupy my mind with something other than the overwhelming sadness of my recent divorce. You helped me through a rough patch, my friend... and I appreciate you for it!

Dell, thank you for the kind words. Although you and I have never met, I feel that you are my friend too, and I can feel your kindness and generosity from the words you choose and the way you interact with us on this forum. If you are ever near St. Louis MO I would really enjoy to have a beer with you and talk about horseracing and other stuff too.
Congrats on being the "least worst" of the two of us. I REALLY tried to pour it on at the end and just fell short. I knew I would have a tough time beating you because you are really good at PH (as a two time ring-wearer). I really enjoyed the H2H and look forward to perhaps engaging more of the forumites in a PH challenge-within-a-challenge. Best wishes Mr. Yount, Scott aka triguy
