I am 'shoes which got shortened years ago from white shoes which as Del correctly deduced years ago was a reference to an old football player. My contest resume is pretty slim, as the contests here are the only ones I play. There is one notable exception. Many years ago (sometime between 1986 and 1990, I finished in 6th place in a Del Mar meet contest sponsored by the Los Angeles Times. My prize which I treasure greatly, and still use to this day, was a Del Mar logo beach duffel.
I live in Michigan now (also born there) after stops in Agoura Hills, CA, Columbus, OH, Frisco, Texas, Indianapolis, IN, and Nashville TN.

Best major tournament finish was a 4th in the old Gold Coast Summer Classic good for 12G's but more importantly it's where I first met Dell and he told me about this site called UPINCLASS. Used to run a website called the Secretariat Trivia Page and was able to interview Ron Turcotte, Penny Chenery and Big Reds exercise rider Jim Gaffney. Creator of the "Otis Special" bet (you pick, I bet, we split) used frequently around here.

Billy White Shoes Johnson, the first guy that I can remember doing various touchdown celebrations - played for the Houston Oilers & Atlanta Falcons, if I recall correctly, shoes!
My name is Eric and I live in Cincinnati. I typically make a trip to Keeneland each spring and fall and a trip to Saratoga each summer. Also attend the Breeders Cup most years and love spending a week out west when it's hosted by Santa Anita or Del Mar. Have been to several Kentucky Derbies but stopped going about 4 years ago when it was apparent that CD management was content to stick it to the average fan.
The only contests I recall playing are the Saratoga and BC contests on this forum, and one other one - an annual Triple Crown Season contest hosted by a guy in the Southern Ohio area. The best way I can sum up my results: Fair to Middlin'. A few of my horse stories are posted in the UIC Town Square. Looking forward to the UIC Open. If my results match my actual golf game, don't worry - I'll be in your rear view mirror.

My name is Tony and I currently live in Toronto. I first started playing contests at Woodbine racetrack in Toronto. Nowadays I mostly play online contests at HorseTourneys. In the past, I've played at the NHC, BCBC and the HPWS. I have yet to cash at these big tourneys. I've won some contests online but am still looking for that big score. Looking forward to the UIC open! Fore.

My name is Robert Fleming. I'm originally from the Caribbean but resides in Texas via US. Army. I started playing horse racing at ESPN back in 2000. There I won my first ever contest and won $500.00. Part of my past success are: winning this UIC contest, the Tampa bay down downs contest as my Avatar shows. I've been extremely successful at Horsetourneys.com, including winning two contests last weekend. But none like winning over 10 contests at theracingbiz.com. I've also won two seat to the last Vegas contest. One with the former PUBLIC HANDICAPPER which is now SOK and the other seat(name I cannot remember) but I never participated due to fear of flying after 9/11. I've overcome that now. LOL

good luck everyone!

My name is Jerry, Monmouth Park used to be my home track with residing in NJ. Mostly play, Belmont, Keeneland, Saratoga with some CD, GP & Oaklawn thrown in. Have a love/hate relationship with FG, some years I love it and most othersâŚNot so good⌠like my play in tournaments, participate here but otherwise rarely. My running lines read like, âaway slow, showed nothing â or âstumbled start, rushed to contention, faded badly stretchâ or âaway in good order, tracked leaders, moved out top of the stretch and hung.â

Tom here. Actually won the Upinclass Saratoga contest one year as well as a couple smaller UIC contests. Played the contests at Delaware Park back when one of the prizes was a trip to one of the majors. Finished in the top ten there once.

I am Dale Michael Mueller in St Louis, I started playing tournaments around 2000, give or take a year or two. I also won the prestigous UIC Saratoga once, so far. I did cash once at The Orleans once in 2003 but only for $1000 which just about paid the cost of entry, plane fare and hotel room. I was very active for several years making 8 contests a year - PrM, HOO, ELL 3 a year, KEE 2 a year, KD. I have yet to win one.

My name is Tony and I live in New Jersey. Have won several contests on this site and finished in the money in several other contests. Have also won some contests on other sites but cannot give you any specifics because I can't remember the names. At 89 years of age, I may be the oldest member of this forum.

Bryon here (aka Turbine) from Western PA. I went with "Turbine" as my moniker after an old classmate yelled it out at our 40th reunion, a nickname I completely forgot about. I play occasionally on Horsetourneys with one small win and a couple 'in the moneys' here at UIC. My live wagering is mainly limited to the annual treks to Saratoga with the condo crew and Tampa Bay Downs with very little success. I'm still trying to figure out my go-to wager type...win, Exacta, Tri, P3... Gam got me started on the forum

My name is Warren and I live 30 miles from Gulfstream. Grew up 20 miles from Belmont, and lived at times 5 miles from Suffolk Downs, 50 miles from Rockingham, 90 miles from Tampa Bay Downs, and 9 miles from The Meadowlands. Only tournaments I've ever played in are here at UIC and a few Beat The Host contests on Xpressbet. Never run in the money in any tourney. Have spent somewhere around 500 pleasant days at one track or the other, mainly Gulfstream, Calder, Hialeah, but I've run a few times at Saratoga, Churchill Downs, Longchamps, Oaklawn, and others. I was retired and put out to stud 4 years ago. I've since lost interest in racing and I rarely even check to see how ex-stablemates or their children are running. The only enjoyment I get from racing is the camaraderie here, thank you, and the challenge I enjoy chasing the fast fillies at Remington Park.

My name is John from southern NJ. Have been playing the horses for over 50 years. Used to calculate my own Beyer numbers for Monmouth, Garden State (was in the grandstand the day it burned down) and the NY tracks. Sad day for me when the DRF started publishing Beyer numbers. This is a fun contest. Looking forward to playing. Thanks

David from KY. I grew up around the industry but was bitten by the racing bug when attending UK and being exposed to Keenleland on the regular, scheduling my W-F classes as to not conflict with being there every day in April and October. Holy Bull was the first horse I was smitten with as an adult and afternoons spent on the backside the fall of his 3YO season cemented my love for the game. I canât thank Jimmy Croll enough for his generosity and putting up with me! Little did I know those days would turn into a career in the industry. I donât play in tournaments outside of those on Up In Class but do love handicapping and wagering regularly. Best of luck to all.

Son, _( I can call you that because of our age differences), I remember when an ice cream guy pushing an ice cream cart sold small ice cream cones for a penny and a small ice cream sandwich was two cents. Believe it or not.

Tim from Southeast Arkansas. I'm a farmer, husband, father, and Deacon. (They occurred in that order.)
Been playing Oaklawn Park since 1981. Once won a golf contest on UpInClass. Won some of the SB board this year. Have never won a handicapping challenge.
Hoping to make a better showing in this year's event.

I followed Jimmy Croll's horses back in 70's, with Royal and Regal, Regal and Royal, Jatski, Bet Twice. He was great with 1st timers. Became my first trainer friend, we'd drink together at the railside Flamingo Bar at Hialeah. He gave me my first hot tip on Jatski the day he broke his maiden as a 20/1 FTS. I think Regal and Royal might still be alive at 47!

Hi .. I am Jack. One of the âseniorsâ on this tour.. I am 73.. donât feel a day over 72! Lol. Been involved with the ponies since my dad took me to my first race day when I was about 10. It was at Saratoga because we grew up 20 minutes away in Troy NY.. the home of âUncle Samâ! Seriously. . As I got older, I moved to Sarasota and was a banker there for several years before my job took me to Vermont where I remained a banker for another 25 year then retired Our good friend .. Larry Latour.. RIP.. got me hooked here and also showed me the ropes on tournament playing online .., I won several small contests on line and was lucky to win my way into the Horse Players Word Series 4 times with my best finish being 9th of 427 .. fun time .. I won about $7000 or so but also made new friends. Uic the wrightstuff (Ed). And Eric K. Shared the table each time with Larry! Miss him. Lastly. I play a 2-2 double every time I go to the races! Regardless of odds. Best hit was $301 at the Spa!! Love this forum and my annual trek to Saratoga with my yellow blanket boys., . Enjoy the friendships here. Thanks Dell!
