Sept totals.... Only three starts in Sept. A win and a second for a decent $38,500 in earnings. Claiming Crown next month at Churchill for the first time is definitely going to be a contest changer. Not sure if I'm going to have any there, but my CD runner Caramelito ran his eyeballs out in his best race on the dirt by far in Sept and should have been put up after getting beaten up in deep stretch.

Sorry. My computer died a couple months ago and for some reason Equibase Virtual Stable will not let me log on, nor get it fixed. Rest assured that none of my deadbeats won any significant purse money. I am more likely to be billed for a funeral...LOL. I will update whenever it is straightened out.

Bev, thanks for running this again. I love the research in January and following them along during the year is exciting, even though it's just for the contest.
The bad news for me is that Exit Right is likely going to be entered today in a $65,000 starter allowance (Alw10000s) at Parx on 12/26 at 8.5f (they could sprint him in a different starter, but I don't see that). Parx always has starters in their final week for horses that have raced at Parx during the year. When I saw Exit Right working out this month, I knew what they were going for. Even though he made a living in starter 8s this year, He'll be one of the favorites against whatever full field that starter 10 has. An 8k claimer that took down just over 200k so far in 10 starts. Very impressive!!
I've been a little frustrated as a faux owner with the placement of Caramelito this year. He's not quite an allowance horse, but that's where he's been racing. He's learned to run ok on dirt, which he couldn't do at all when they first ran him there this year. Bang up second in a 32000 claimer at Churchill where he should have been placed first due to interference...and instead of staying in claimers, they go back to allowance. On top of that....
....they're finally going long. This 5 year old ran long 11 times when he was 2 and 3 years old...with 3 wins, 2 places, 2 shows. He's sprinted since and has always looked like he's needed more ground. He drew the rail for Friday, which should help him get the stalking trip he wants. Bad news...it's still against allowance and there's going to be a 4/5 shot in Win The Day. He's not beating Win The Day.
Knowhowiknow...yes, that was a crushing nose defeat to a rival who beat him last time they raced together. He was claimed for 10,000 and there's a race on 12/31 where he could come back. It's at Laurel, Clm16k-12.5k(n3l). It's one of those "beaten" claimers that's open also to 3 year olds claiming. He's 3. Entries for 12/31 close on 12/28, so maybe there's still a shot if I'm right about Exit Right running back and getting a check.

New contest will start in a few days (entries for 1/1/2023 for Fairgroundds will be out on Friday ) so make sure you get a full quota this year. |

This contest is turning out to have more twists and turns than a drunk snake as Exit Right does just that and leaves the door open for Propro but will the weather have a final say on proceedings 🥶

Exit Right breezed another 4f today, so they're still shooting for something. Ness has 2 in that starter, so maybe they pivoted. $300 supplemental nomination in his future and an entry in the $75,000 Kris Kringle Handicap on 12/28? Entries close on 12/22.

Turfway has already cancelled Friday's card. Forecasted temperature of 4F at 7pm with 20mph winds. The races are supposed to be added and redrawn to next week's cards. I hope Win The Day picks a different spot and that Caramelito draws inside again.

Twists and turns indeed. Caramelito either wasn't reentered in the Turfway allowance or didn't draw in. I was surprised to see 4 new faces in the entries for that race and two of the original entries were on the AE list, including likely favorite Win The Day. Why wouldn't the original field get priority into the main field?
Parx entries are done for the year. Laurel has one day left to draw. 12/28 for 12/31. Maybe Knowhowiknow will enter the claimer in the condition book or there will be a better race show up in the overnights. Hoping for a shot!!
