UIC Claiming Contest 2022 - Congratulations Quick Call

As this year’s contest draws to an exciting close with PhlierFreak looking like the narrow winner it is time to open the contest for 2022 where a $100 Otis Special awaits the winner as well as the name on the trophy to follow Propro in 2016, Cherokee Scot in 2017 , Propro again in 2018 and 2019 , Indypacer in 2020 and most likely PhlierFreak in 2021. (I might actually finally get round to buying a trophy this year)

Here are the rules of the 2022 Contest

1. Players must select 4 horses in January 2022 running in claiming races that month - to be eligible the horse MUST be in for a tag
2. Players will have a bankroll of $100k No credit is given for any unused bankroll but you cannot go over the limit.
3. No two players can claim the same horse , so first person to make the claim gets preference. Claim must be made prior to race.
4. To be eligible for selection the horse must be making its first appearance of the year in January ( this makes scoring easier)
5. Winner is player with highest earnings according to Equibase. Players will be expected to keep their own scores and post updates.
6. Earnings count for the whole calendar year including the first race that you make the claim so it’s important to get off to good start
7. Following guidance from both the CDC and UIC if you are unvaccinated for Covid 19 you are ineligible to participate .

Entries for 2022 should start appearing in Equibase in the next couple of days. Any questions should be posted in this thread

 Thanks Dell.  I hope he's not over the hill, but his dirt and turf ability in PA makes him versatile if he can still run.  Good luck with Joe Frazier.  I watched some of his replays and did some research on his past foes before going elsewhere.  I couldn't tell if he's ready to have a huge year or if he's a bust, but he's got some potential.  The trainer had a win at OP yesterday.

He's one of about half a dozen I'm considering.  It's hard in this contest putting in claims for a specific amount for your fourth runner when your previously chosen runners haven't started yet.

Bev, do the voided claim rules still apply from past years where a voided claim at the track led to a voided claim in your contest?  Li'lbito'charm is a voided claim by the Vet today at Parx.
