Hoop - thanks for posting that link. My thought on this "race of the year...part 1" was that Snap Decision is using this to get ready for the G1 Grand National next month and this article states that. Snap Decision is a monster for Bruton Street - US. He's amazing. I've been a giant fan since I saw him pulling his way around Monmouth Park 2 years ago to break his maiden. He made me some good money at 2-1 in the Foxbrook Novice at Far Hills that year on a gooey "good" track that was good to soft in Euro terms. His move to open competition has been stellar. His win in the G2 Temple Gwathmey Hcp at the Middlebrook Spring races was a sight. He just rated kindly until Watters said "you can go...a little" and he just inhaled the pacesetters effortlessly. His G1 win in the Iroquois at Nashville involved a similar move, but Amschel kept running on to keep it close. Percy Warner Park is a demanding course and he handled it well.
The Mean Queen faces her acid test today, but she looks like the real deal as well after those Saratoga efforts. She'll have 3 choices at Far Hills since she's novice eligible and could blow away the mares if she wants. Guessing she'll go in the GN as well if she runs well here and comes out of it well.
First race is a bit of a crapshoot. Baltimore Bucko will be favored since his races look best on paper. Stablemate French Light has been good. Booby Trap ran huge at Saratoga, Ritzy A.P. ran poorly and should run better today....and Bruton Street - US brings an import that they bought recently in Bassmatchi.
Decided not to play today instead of taking Snap Decision at a short price. I will be watching with interest.

Sadness for Baltimore Bucko who didn't survive his fall over the fourth fence. That effort is what I expected from Ritzy A.P. when I pounded him at Saratoga...
The Lonesome Glory was as strange a steeplechase you'll see. The pace was so strange with Bodes Well being a little rank and slowing down hard when he was pulled on before running hard when he wasn't. The Mean Queen was better today today with 157lb than Snap Decision with 164lb, but I thought Snap had the tougher trip off the layoff and will be trained hard up to the Grand National. I don't know if The Mean Queen gets 5 pounds there and 151, but the boys will all carry 156 and Snap Decision will be back on Lasix at 2 5/8 miles. Maybe I can even get 2-1 again....
