"Navarro also admitted that he specifically administered drugs to X Y Jet prior to the 2019 Dubai Golden Shaheen".

Navarro now faces a maximum prison term of five years when he gets sentenced Dec. 17.
The following is probably of the most concern to Navarro.
Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil of United States District Court (Southern District of New York) also warned the 46-year-old citizen of Panama and current Ocala, Florida, resident that he could face deportation or other adverse immigration-related consequences as the result of his conviction.

CONCLUSION
For the foregoing reasons, and as previously ordered on the record of the last hearing in this case, see Transcript of May 14, 2021 Conference, ECF No. 380, at 16:20-17:6, each of the Motions to Dismiss the Indictment is DENIED. As alleged in the Indictment, for years Defendants conspired to drug racehorses under their control, leading to acclaim and millions of dollars in winnings. To do so, Defendants’ customized performance-enhancing drugs were mislabeled to avoid scrutiny by drug regulators, were administered without FDA authorization and prescriptions, and were made to be undetectable in routine drug tests. The law is clear that government agencies involved in drug regulation and enforcement can be the object of a defendant’s intent to defraud or mislead within the meaning of Section 333 of the FDCA, and that intent to defraud those agencies makes the violation a felony offense. The Indictment more than sufficiently alleges that the FDA, CBP, and state drug regulators were victims of Defendants’ fraud in this case. In addition, because they are delegated authority to oversee drug use in horses, the horse racing officials and regulators also may be alleged as targets of a defendant’s intent to defraud or mislead for the purpose the FDCA felony provision. The motion filed by Defendant Tannuzzo also is denied. The portion of his motion seeking a judgment of acquittal is denied as premature since no evidence has yet been presented to the trier of fact. To the extent the motion seeks dismissal of the Indictment on other grounds, it also is denied because the Indictment clearly alleges that he was involved in the drug 42 Date: July 30, 2021 New York, NY
Case 1:20-cr-00160-MKV Document 450 Filed 07/30/21 Page 43 of 43 adulteration conspiracies allegedly spearheaded by the other Defendants with intent to defraud governmental agencies that regulate drugs. The letter motions filed by Defendants Navarro, Garcia, Jordan Fishman, and Dane, Jr., joining in the Fishman-Giannelli Motion and seeking dismissal are DENIED. The Clerk of Court respectfully is requested to close the motions at ECF No. 325, 326, 327, 328, 329, 331, 332, 346, and 348. SO ORDERED.

You may be right TC but the SDNY did drop other charges incuding felonies to get the plea.
I think the following should be worth the 5 years.
In the indictment, Navarro said he had used a blood builder similar to erythropoietin that he called "monkey" on X Y Jet, including on the day of the race. "I gave it to him through 50 injections. I gave it to him through the mouth." X Y Jet died of an apparent heart attack in January last year.

For one I am glad to see the “real” reactions of these guys - like Shug- instead of the typical “statement” they give. This tells us all just how angry they were the entire time this was going on. Nobody likes Servis much do they??!!

Portion of released wiretaps from this week. Remind anyone of Medina Spirit?
Servis: Hey. So they've been doing some out-of-competition testing, which I have no problem with. Um, they took Maximum Security Monday and they came back again today. But Monday he got the KS. I just want to make sure we are all good with that.Rhein: Wait, what did he get?Servis: I'm sorry, I said “KS.” The, you know, your shot. The… Rhein: Oh, the SG.
Servis: Yeah, that stuff.
Rhein: Yeah—no, no, no. The Jockey Club tested it, and I met the guy who tested it way back when. It comes back as collagen. They don't even have a test for it.
Servis: It will probably come up with [dexamethasone] probably, right?
Rhein: Yeah, that's it. It will be dex. It will be dex. It will be like—that's it. And I've had them, I had them pull some stuff, and I was like, “Oh, [expletive], I wonder what will happen?” Nothing. Nothing. I mean and the guy said SGF doesn't even test close, thank god. But the only thing will be the AZM and you can just say he was like hives or something, but…
Servis: Right. But they're not even going to ask me about it.
Rhein: They won't, even.
Servis: Because you're allowed to have that anyways. Dex, I mean.
Rhein: He's allowed. He's allowed. So [unintelligible] I don't know. I've done it. I've had it tested. Jockey Club did it, and I've had at least three different times it's been tested on horses that I gave it the day before and nothing. Not a word.
Servis: Yup.
Rhein: There's no test for it in America. There's no testing. There's nothing.
Servis: Okay, that's fine.

How that horse must have suffered. 50 doses! And forced to keep running. But we have an entirely different set of ethics about holding a human being down, with duct tape and cable ties, and administering something on a regular basis, that is going to give them an eventual heart attack and the injector knows its only a matter of time. Like people who kill their spouses like this. Nope, these kinds should not be let loose into humankind. Because......they are sub human. I had always heard that if someone tortures an animal that they are not deemed safe to be around your children or famiilyl. Well, my time in animal rescue taught me that this is true. I need brain bleach to get rid of some of the things I saw. These people do not belong in the greater society.... I've *met* too many of them in the times I had to go to court in defense of a helpless animal. And it scared me, what I saw. Oh well, Baffert injecting all those horses who died set the scale I guess. He goes on to success and great wealth, and I wonder why people ask me how I can follow horse racing. Well, they don't understand what it's like to see the greats at the breeding farms, the good and honest trainers, the loving grooms and exercise riders behind the scenes, and it would take me too long to EXPLAIN it all.....they don't understand a lot of stuff.........but I can kinda see their point on a lot of days, too. What is done to some of these horses makes me .........SQUIRM. And it has to stop. because everyone knows there's more where Sevis and Navarro came from.

....and let me add, if a sex offender moves into your general neighborhood you receive a notification in the mail.
They need to do this if an animal torturer moves into your neighborhood.
They should not be anonymous. ecause they really are twisted and mentally ill on many levels. I certainly would not trust my family aorund such sickos.
We have become innured to it by following certain sports. But it's really quite twisted.

The dominoes start falling.
Not fast and far enough Amber Cobb was taped beating a cross-tied (young) horse with a rake at a farm in NJ. The initial suspension was for 2 years, then the Del Racing Comm reduced to 2 months. (I was reading testimony from her groom---and if valid, it appears that this beating isn't a "one off".) Based on what I saw in that video, she needs to be forbidden to ever work around, or own any animal again, horse, dog, cat, rabbit, hamster. At the very least, based on what I saw and heard in the video, it appears she does not have the emotional or psychological temperment to train young horses. I also thought about these young horses and what an incredibily stressful life this would be, to be in a barn like that. Nonetheless, no matter who's story is true, what comes out of this for me is that these young horses, while training to race, can be in a very stressful life in the wrong hands............my personal thought is that IF training methods do not involve patient handling, attention to their emotional well being, or their feelings, then we may as well call it involuntary servitude. It must be so frightening to a young horse to go thru all this and IMHO they do deserve to be trained by patient and emotionally steady humans? How can we continue to allow such persons to be in our sport? I thought it was all really quite.......gruesome...... I have never hit my dogs or screamed at them in such a manner.....and they were all very large animals, stronger than I am. www.paulickreport.com/news/the-biz/suspension-reduction-in-cobb-case-came-down-to-she-said-she-said-regarding-mistreatment-of-filly/

Judge Vyskocil lashed into Navarro several times throughout the 90-minute hearing.
“For years, Mr. Navarro, you effectively stole millions, cheating other trainers, owners and jockeys who you competed against,” the judge said. “You also demonstrated, Mr. Navarro, a collective, callous disregard for the well-being of the horses. Bottom line, you likely killed or endangered horses in your care.”

Navarro spends 5 years in prison for killing horses with drugs, cheating owners that deserved the winners purses, jockeys, backstretch employees, the horse racing community and people that wagered on the other horses in all those crooked races Navarro had horses running. He should be deported back to his native country as soon as he is released and all fines paid before allowed out of prison.

Deportation is not off the table in the future. He may cry a tear and say he lost his way,but there is a price to pay.
