No better spot to spend a Sunday morning with coffee and a catalog. Memories of giants like Mack Miller and Woody sitting on the benches between barns. Baffert and D Wayne hustling around looking at their finalists. The night Sheikh Mo was there. The vetting that goes on now is incredible compared to just 20 years ago. Having the stones to ask consignors to pull horses out for me just for the fun of it. Ask me about the night Midnight Lucky sold in 2011 when you see me. I'll be watching the stream tonight for hip #41, 7 figures possible if he has clean radiographs.

I'm very interested in Hip #45, colt by Justify x Bar of Gold. Dam won the BC F&M Sprint, 2017 Champion Older Dirt Female & New York Champion Female Sprinter. Won stakes on dirt & turf from 6F to 8.5F. She was bred by the Bromans, as is this colt. Her first colt by Tapit, named Coinage, is already stakes-placed as a 2yo here at SAR. Always rooting for the Bromans to do well. Locally based up in Chestertown, NY ( www.americasbestracing.net/owners/broman-sr-chester-and-mary ). TW

Lots of RNAs and no fireworks so far .
I remember a couple of years back when the salestopper at $2m was Chestertown. Horse was recently gelded and ran up the track in the last at Saratoga on Saturday . Tough business

Who's Jody and who's Bruce? Jody seems to be in a lot of the action. Bruce, too. Dan upstairs and Patrick in the back. Not to forget Woody. What about Woody?
What names are connected with which stables?
Who's Jody?
"Tom's in. You're all out."

The physical didn't match the page on #41. RNA #38 was the best physical I've seen so far.

Tough business I've often wondered how you can tell from the auctioneer's patter whether the reserve has been achieved. Could you offer any explanations? Thanks.

These are the spotters who work for Fasig Tipton . Woody is always in the back where the most fun is and where the drinks are flowing freely

If you listen carefully you will hear shouts from the spotters which will tell you if there are live bids .

Will they allow me to go in just to sit and observe tomorrow? Absolutely- definitely worth going . Best place to stand is next to Woody in the outside ring .

Awesome, we’re going shopping with Phoebe after work. Hopefully, we’ll be able to stop by and sit for a bit. That would be cool.

Awesome, we’re going shopping with Phoebe after work. Hopefully, we’ll be able to stop by and sit for a bit. That would be cool. Hi Jeff, we'll be there early in the evening (6:00pm ?), milling around the crowd just behind the sales pavilion. You can't sit inside the sales pavilion unless you are a registered bidder or agent. They used to let you stand upstairs in the balcony overlooking the action, not sure if that is still the case. Pretty claustrophobic up there. Text me when you get there. TW

What farm did he grow up on? I’m guessing Jeff is asking which farm Bobby Flay grew up on . All you need to do to be the named breeder is to own the mare and pay the Stallion’s owners the stud fee. No need to get your hands dirty or actually deliver the foal although some breeders actually do that but certainly not Bobby !
